It was not bad but not good either. Is cute has a lot of animals. The staff was friendly specially Otilio y Carlos in fhe buffet club de playa. The food is bad there is not a lit of variety and the drink was hot instead of cold. The alcholic drink were bad or too sweet. Byt the hotel and pool was great. The beach is beautiful and clean.

Food was excellent in Royal. Poolside drink service was good too but not consistent everyday. Room service was very enjoyable despite order getting mixed up once or twice. Comfy beds and loved the ocean view with daybeds right in front of our room. Housekeeping was great. One of them helped us report phone and internet not working and also gave us chocolates. She gave us what she could but we wanted more. Very friendly staff. Did not have an issue with any of the staff. Some staff are nicer or more pleasant than others but all were good. Two minor in room issues fixed immediately.

Primero que todo, nunca me dieron un tour cuando llegamos. Segundo, el cuarto tenía un ruido exagerado en el aire y. Única funcionó el tel para front de al. Tercero me enfermé con la comida. Me dio food poison y casi me muero y mi esposo fue a conseguí medicina que ya me había recetado nuestro Dr. pero no querían al principio dársela y aparte que costo muchísimo más que en los USA! Me querían cobran la consulta solamente por $90 dollares. Más aparte la medicina que al último si nos la dieron que salió por más de $100 dollares. Cuarto, fuimos un grupo grande de 22 personas y al principio habían dicho que si podíamos reservar para los restaurantes con reserva y al último no cumplieron. Quinto la comida no muy buena. Y sexto el servicio no muy bueno en general especialmente donde levanta las toallas uno y en los restaurantes. Mi esposa y yo nos hemos quedado en varios resorts de Cancún y Riviera Maya y nunca habíamos tenido esta mala experiencia. La verdad no recomiendo este resort de Xcaret. Y por último olvidaba que nosotros no tomamos y cuando pedíamos una bebida sin alcohol la mayoría hacían sus caras, como que no les gustaba k fuera sin alcohol. Nada que ver.

We had an early flight so we arrived before check in time. (We knew that we had to wait, so that was not an issue). Upon arrival, we couldn’t use the facilities until after 11AM. If we wanted to use the facilities it was an extra $15 per person. Right before 11 AM we were called so they could put our bracelets on and we could make use of the facilities. We were given keys to get towels at the pools and beach are. (Don’t lose the keys otherwise at check out you have to pay an extra $20). Once we went back to the lobby a couple of hours later we were given our rooms. Rooms (suites were big). Note 6 suites were booked… we all wanted to stay in the same building but we couldn’t . I had sent out emails and spoke to management to make sure that at least my rooms (2) were in the same building. After back and forth and 2 hours my two rooms were in the same building but different floors. My sister and parents were on a separate building and my brother and friends were on a different building. My other brother ended up on a different building. Anyway as far as reservations for restaurants once you get your room keys immediately go adjacent to the lobby to make dinner reservations. If you stay 4 nights you can only select 2 restaurants for dinner, 7 nights 4 reservations. ( I didn’t like that we couldn’t make reservations for every single night of our stay. Other than that it was a pleasant experience the food was ok. Not the best, unless you go to a specialty restaurant.

The property is beautiful. The food is average and they make it hard to reserve restaurants. Did not like having birds in the lobby for decoration, they should be free. Very sad to see them everyday in captivity.

One of the Worst Resort Experiences – Save Your Money! I’ve stayed at multiple all-inclusive resorts and can confidently say Occidental Xcaret in Cancun was by far the worst. The food was absolutely terrible — every meal somehow tasted worse than the last. For a place that advertises itself as a high-end all-inclusive, the quality was beyond disappointing. The service was equally awful. Every time I requested a drink, I was met with eye-rolls or annoyed expressions from the staff. It felt like I was inconveniencing them just by asking. Isn’t that the whole point of an all-inclusive? To make things worse, our room was extremely humid and uncomfortable. We asked to switch rooms due to the conditions, only to be told we’d have to wait until the next day — no real sense of urgency or care for guest comfort. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this resort to my worst enemy. There are so many better options in Cancun that actually deliver on what they promise. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere — this place is a waste of time and money.

Went for five days. Easy walk to Xcarat park. You do not need transportation if you stay here. Walk along the water approximately 5min walk. Only thing I didnt like was the Chinese Restaurant. Awesome place to stay
