I am writing to formally report a serious safety incident that occurred during my recent stay and to request a refund.
During the night (approximately 12:30 a.m.), a hotel employee conducted a room check without knocking or announcing himself. I was in the room with my sister and three infants under the age of one. Due to the lack of notice, we believed there was an immediate safety threat and reacted out of fear.
Following this incident, we were told by the Manager on Duty that we needed to vacate the property before 6:30 a.m. He stated this needed to happen quietly so other staff would not be involved. We were also told we could be “locked up” if a claim was filed, which caused extreme distress given that infants were present.
When I asked to see the hotel policy regarding late-night room checks, I was informed that the policy was not written and was simply “what they do.” This explanation was unacceptable and concerning, especially considering guest privacy and safety standards.
Being forced to leave the property in the early morning hours with three babies after such an incident was traumatic and unsafe. The situation was handled improperly, without de-escalation, documentation, or appropriate concern for child safety.
Due to:
• the unannounced room entry
• the fear and distress caused
• the presence of three infants
• the manner in which we were pressured to leave
• and the lack of written policy or proper incident handling
