The stay was great, the front desk was great the only downside was there was an issue with the app… I double checked my dates and it still booked the wrong dates. I didn’t find out until I got the notification about my trip. Hotels.com tried to help unfortunately management wouldn’t refund or even do a partial one. I double checked the dates when I chose them, I guess I need to make sure hotels.com doesn’t change them back

I was excited to stay at this hotel as the pictures and most reviews seemed good. Check in was terrible . We waited over and hour with a lot of people crowded in the lobby. Once getting up to our room we were getting showers and found a hair ball from the previous people who were staying there . The room did not smell clean , and we found like black paint or something on our covers . The property is in a good location , but I willl not be back .

Hotel was decent but we stood in line for over an hour just to check in. Then to top it off the fire alarm went off at 11:30pm, after walking down 24 floors are told it was a false alarm.

During the last night of our stay, we were awakened around 12:30am by a very loud and persistent fire alarm telling us to "await further instructions" and that went on for a solid 20 minutes. As we were staying in a very high floor, I tried to decide whether we should stay, or start going down the stairs and was waiting to get further instructions from the hotel. (They had been texting me various info during the day, so clearly they have an easy way to communicate with guests, but no, we heard nothing.) Finally most people on the floor decided to start going down the stairs, which took a really long time since some people were elderly and some had young children. By the time we got down, the fire department was there and one firefighter told us that it was safe to return to our rooms. At that point, not a single communication was issued by the hotel management, in person or by text. We all lined up for a solid half hour for the elevators to go back to our rooms (imagine hundreds of people trying to get back up all at the same time). I reached out to the hotel to express my concern this morning and they replied the following: "Good Morning, the alarm was an emergency and thankfully no one was hurt. A guest left a candle lit in the room and the curtains caught fire. We will not be issuing any compensations but will offer a complimentary 1pm late check out if needed."

Check in was over an hour long wait, got woken up I the middle of the night with loud emergency alarm and had to evacuate out side. Not the best customer service. Rooms were fine. Location was great.

The hotel is extremely conveniently located. Its walking distance from most major sites and also is right next to a PHLASH bus stop that can take you on a loop to many of the major attractions.

I just experienced the fault alarm. We were on 19 floors. We went down the stairs and went back in the midnight!!! And not knowing what actually happened!!!

Family trip with a little one. Staff was patient and friendly. I don’t think we could hear much from outside the room. There is a laundry room on-site. The beds were comfortable. It is a very convenient location. We would choose Sonesta again

The Sonesta is a wonderful brand to stay in when in Phialdelphia. The location on Market street it optimal. The staff are generally friendly and respectful. This property has been around for awhile under different brand names. Overall, Sonesta has renewed the lobby and restaurant offerings. The rooms were a little bit tired with fraying carpeting in our suite. The window trim looks 1980's aluminum/vinyl with removed latching hardware. The outside of the windows needs to be cleaned. We upgraded to a corner suite which was work the cost (~$25 per night more) as we were staying several nights. We did ask for a one hour extension to check out (noon instead of 11AM) and were flatly turned down. The reasoning was they were sold out the next night. I am sure they were not turning all the rooms in the hotel in that 1 hour or even all the rooms on our floor in one hour. Perhaps some flexibility would have been warranted.

Ideal Location in Philadelphia

A very convenient hotel for a meeting at the Italian Consulate. Courteous staff and a great lady behind the bar. Ideal location in the center of town. Will visit again.
