Very welcoming staff on the reception desk, especially Ami who made us feel very comfortable and did the best she could to get us an early check in.The friendliness and courtesy from the staff managing the breakfast area on the other hand could do with some improvement.At times we almost felt discriminated given that one particular staff member chose to completely ignore our presence while chatting away heartily to other guests.Other than this experience I can’t rate this hotel highly enough!!

There was a floading in our hall way and the noice in the hallway was So loud they even got a machine in - we did not sleep from 2.30-5pm and where there from NZ - we had some water in our room from it - we didn’t get back from wk and than dinner till about 7.30 when we asked at the desk they very blank about what happened and then when we asked if anyone else complained from Floor 12, they said yes they had lots of complaints - we said had been sorted. She said I work on this floor. I have no idea when we went upstairs. We discovered that it was still very damp and lots of machines going on and it was the room next to us that really had hit the incident because it was loud dryer on so we rung the desk downstairs and explain this and we’ll meet with no reaction and no idea of help so I suggested we could possibly move rooms and I said that would be OK!!! I was very taken back by the no offer of help or assistance we had to ask for it and nothing to do with us. I explained I have a very severe asthmatic issue and the damp room and the heating from next-door plus the noise we needed a good sleep. I was a little horrified about this was handled that relief they eventually gave us another room.

this was in a great area! such a short walk to grand central terminal. other places are within a decent walking distance as well. visited new york with my sister & we both had a great time. it was very nice to come back to after a long day of walking around. only thing that sucks is on weekend mornings, the elevator queue can put you back about 15-30 mins. not sure if this occurs weekly or just the weekend we were booked but expect this to occur in the mornings until 11am. staff were very considerate to email guests about instances like this! we also had an issue with a faint sound/alarm in our room that was quite annoying & staff came to investigate in a timely manner! very accommodating staff! would most likely stay at the westin again!
