Locked out of our room for almost 2 hours while my partner‘s medication was inside with not much help from the front desk staff, the maintenance man did do everything he could to help, just was not able to get in the room. had to call the fire department myself, instead of being offered by the hotel. Also had to ask for a discounted or comp rate instead of being offered by the hotel…

The great thing about this hotel is the location and friendliness of staff. It’s close to everything downtown and the staff were all very friendly. I liked the aesthetic in the lobby, as well as the various games available to play. However, the room was a bit disappointing. There was no place to put our belongings down, (no tables except for the nightstand). We just had everything on the floor. We also didn’t get a scoop chair like the pictures. It was just a metal folding chair that hung on the wall. There were 3 lamps in the room, and only 1 was working. The recessed lighting in the ceiling also stopped working after one night. There weren't any bags in what we assumed was the trash can, and there were no hand towels or wash cloths provided. We were only there for two nights, so we just dealt with it. The bed was also really firm. The building is pretty old, so be aware that the elevators can be a little rickety. We also heard really loud banging in the walls several times during our stay. I don’t think we would stay there again, unfortunately.

The first room I was given when I checked in was room 510, and it was as hot as a sauna and the HVAC was completely frozen so it wasn’t working. I called the front to let them know and was told to come down to swap rooms and pick up a new key card. When we got to the new room, the overhead light was flashing on and off for the entire 3 nights we were there. I told the front desk staff 4 times about the lights and they kept sending someone up and nothing was done about it. Housekeeping was terrible. Only checked on us once and we had to ask for our own toilet paper and go get it since they didn’t check on us to make sure we were good. There was also no trash basket in the bathroom and the sink was outside the room which didn’t make sense if you’re still going to have to touch the bathroom door to come out and wash your hands. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The room was nice and clean. Hallways and lobby are extremely hot! With no type of airflow I’d be sweating by the time I made it down to lobby to go out. Also the big rats near the entrance at night is very worrisome there has to be something that can be done to keep them away.

Overall the hotel was clean, but you can see some wear and tear in the room furniture, walls, etc. AC worked, but the room still felt humid, likely due to the rain but still uncomfortable. Also the floor wasn't too clean, walking bare foot in our room was not a good idea. Staff were very nice, no issues there.
