I booked this hotel because it advertises 2 queen beds instead of 2 full beds like most hotel double rooms. The beds are smaller than regular queen beds, I asked after our first night thinking they gave us a room with 2 double beds on accident and I was told that they do not have any rooms with full size beds. So if these mattresses are actually queen they are the smallest queen size available and are the same size as a full. Other than that the hotel is decent for the money and location.

The room was extremely dated. There was a sour, mildew scent in the room. There was a beat up mini fridge that was a complete eyesore, let alone the noise of it running continuously. Lastly, the ice maker on the 4th floor Alexa tower was not working. Called the front desk, they mentioned that we go all of the way to the 8th floor to get ice, I refused because of what I paid for the room, the ice maker should have been working!! Four-day stay and the ice maker was broke, and the front desk did not care.

Room was clean. but there was not one working ice machine in the building. So it's a fail. Even Motel 6 has working ice machines. Location to the French Quarter is good. That's all they got. Pool was closed.

There is mold in this hotel. It's so bad, this could kill or seriously hurt someone. It is in the HVAC system. I lost my voice and was coughing the entire time. Upon checkin they tried to charge 3 different things to my card, of course triggering a decline, which I was not notified of until after I checked out 6 days later when the manager called me and was angry with me. She acted like I had insulted her personally and demanded I come back to the hotel, again, hours after I had checked out. She hadn't even tried the card again since the check in day. I'm still not sure the amount charged was correct, and I could end up taking things up with my credit card company. The room was run-of-the-mill dirty as well and engineering tried to open my door (twice!) despite me responding from the other side at 9 am on a Saturday morning.

I payed extra to have a view of canal street but the building is poorly insulated so the noise from the street made it hard to sleep. The building seems like it is maintained as cheaply as possible (à la the landlord special). There was also a faint but distinct mold smell when the AC ran. I turned it off (my stay was in December so this was ok).

The room on the 5th floor faced Bourbon Street. The night was REALLY loud, with cars parked in front of the hotel, blasting people screaming lyrics like "baby/daddy - baby/daddy" until about 3 AM. I called the desk, they said they couldn't control the noise, yet there was no soundproofing on the windows or even heavy curtains to minimize the noise. They didn't even offer earplugs so our two nights there we got very little sleep. Nice central location, but be prepared to not sleep.

The staff were very courteous, lovely people. The place as a whole needs an update. The fridge in my room only had three feet and looked as though it had been dropped off the roof. The vents are loaded with dust which really irritated my allergies.

The staff was wonderful from the minute we drove up!. The hotel is beautiful and you still get that old world elegance . Our room was very comfortable and large however, the bathroom towels were like sandpaper! But I would most definitely stay there again. Oh and the location is perfect!
