Being on Bourbon St the late night noise from loud thumping music is not ideal for restful sleep. But overall if that is a known issue, most hotel stays there will be fine. Also, we arrived at 9 PM and were told we had to use our $15 dining credit that evening. It would’ve been nicer to use it for a coffee or breakfast the next morning since we were only staying one night but we were told that was not possible. We also felt that $55 was quite steep for overnight parking. Other than those factors we enjoyed the hotel for the limited time we were there. I had stayed at this property through the years, once almost 50 years ago and once about 30 years ago! I consider the Royal Sonesta, my “home“ in New Orleans!

The staff was friendly and helpful. But the daily destination fee was not disclosed at the time of booking. When I booked, the fee was listed as all inclusive and there was a substantial additional fee upon arrival. Also, I spoke directly to the front desk before arrival who assured me that I could use 130 for tour discounts. Not true

Pros - Great location, balcony was great. Room had plenty of room. Might be good to have a microwave in there though. **Cleaning staff was top notch. They were unbelievable. Front desk and valet were awesome. Cons - The chair by the doors going out on to the Bourbon St balcony was always in the way. Might only need 1 chair in the room and get rid of that second one.(not a biggie) There were events at the hotel nearly every night we were there so the garden area was always closed on the bottom floor so that was a bummer. I didn't like that the pool bar closed so early. It said open til dusk or something like that but it was always closed way before that. (this one kinda bummed me out) Also, the food at the bar on Bourbon(Le Booze) was not good at all. The bartenders were fine, the food and pool hours just sucked.

We had a king balcony room, while the room was ok, the balcony is basically a walkway for whoever wishes to pass by. Not privet at all. Just be aware of that when booking that particular room.

Lovely hotel, great location and 99.9% of the staff were fabulous. Unfortunately, the location of our room must have been above a club because the bass from midnight to 3am literally shook our beds. We called the front desk and couldn’t get anyone to answer. We texted the number they provided and no response until the next day. We checked out a day early because of it. The hotel should be more responsible in explaining that this could be an issue. They are aware of it.
