Front desk staff, while friendly, were not terribly efficient. I had trouble getting a wake up call. The last day, it never came. Luckily I had a back up or I might have missed my flight. This is what brought down the rating. Valet staff was excellent. Did not eat there. Loved that they had a Christmas show in the evenings and they had the BEST cookies for happy hour.

Beautiful hotel, clean, tidy, spacious, elegant, and close to many shops. The only thing I didn't like is that it doesn't include breakfast or parking for the price. If you want self-parking, you have to pay $25, if I'm not mistaken. BUT it is ok.

We had a wonderful stay at the Portola. Staff was very welcoming & helpful through out our stay. Room was very clean with a comfy bed. The location is fantastic being right across from old fisherman’s wharf. Walking/bike path leads right to cannery row!
