Manhattan Holiday Packages

Although New York contains five large boroughs, most holidaymakers concentrate on just one—Manhattan. After all, it’s the city that never sleeps, promising entertainment, dining, shopping and familiar buildings that seems to get pummelled in every disaster flick ever made. With so much to do, you might want to book everything together in Manhattan, New York holiday packages. Save your time and energy—you're going to need both to experience the best this city has to offer.

Things to Do in Manhattan

Do as the locals do and start your first day of your holiday with brunch. Pick a spot uptown near Central Park so you can work your smorgasbord of bagels, coffee and mimosas off with a nice walk. End your stroll at the eastern edge of the park, which is conveniently right next to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim—two institutions renowned for their distinctive architecture and the collections they house.

If you're lucky enough to have several days in Manhattan, you could also consider taking a holiday to Brooklyn. Less than 15 km from Midtown, Brooklyn is fast emerging as a hip and trendy borough, packed with artisan coffee shops and unique boutiques. Make your trip there even easier by booking a cheap car rental in Manhattan, or simply hop on the frequently running trains throughout the subway.

Shopping, Dining & Nightlife

Get a taste of how the other half lives on 5th Avenue, where designer boutiques are as commonplace as high-end department stores. If you're on a bit of a budget, get lost in the clothing and silk boutiques of Chinatown. Shopping always works up an appetite, so it's lucky that Manhattan's food is as good as its fashion. Again, Chinatown is the place to go if you're after a cheap meal (think yum cha), but for the ultimate New York experience, grab a slice of pizza from one of the many pizzerias scattered through the city. If you're after a nightcap, pop into one of the cosy neighbourhood bars that are common in the East Village.

If a quiet drink's not your scene, Manhattan's clubs are loud, proud and open until the wee hours of the morning, so get ready to re-enact your favourite scenes from “Flashdance” and jump until your knees give out. Travellers looking for something in between might feel at home in one of the easygoing pubs near New York University, but if you're a music buff, forget all of that and just head straight to Times Square. It's the heart of Broadway and one of the most hectic areas in the city. The area alone is entertainment in itself even the most jaded of people-watchers will find absolute gold to write home about.

"This property does not merit 4 stars. Its best quality is its location. The rooms are very dated, bathrooms are also very shabby and poorly ventilated. The A/C either didn’t run or ran at the decibel level of a car engine. The windows are not soundproof and the car honking is incessant."
