Lovely old style hotel with modern facilities. Stayed in the new accommodation wing across the car park where good sized bed and room. Ate well in both restaurants during our stay. Only criticism is that went for a swim on Saturday afternoon where a child was receiving private swimming lesson. Initially coach was loud but after 45 mins child (aged about 9) started to scream outrageously and mother of child would not come and calm him down, just sat and watched thru glass window for 15mins after which time I left as couldn’t put up with noise. Pool manager wouldn’t or couldn’t do anything about it when I mentioned it to him. I wouldn’t go back to the pool again and the event adversely affected an otherwise lovely stay.

Terrible experience from start to finish

Firstly asked for advice from the font desk about fishing companies to take us out for a day was told that was not something that was done in Scotland. Jumped on trip advisor found 4-5 companies. Secondly Room was messy finding underwear left just under the bed proving they didn't look at all just changed the linen. Thirdly Wifi is seriously overpriced. Fourthly phone to room service wasn't working so walked to the front desk, someone came to look at it and said oh yeah us 0 to get through to reception. Room service was not good I got cold meal 2 nights in a row. Fifthly asked about getting breakfast early one day at 6am as we had an early start, was told it would be available in the resturant at 6am when we got down there the next morning we were told quiet rudely it was only available from 6:30. When we came back in I brought this up to the manager who apologized and offered us a free lunch which did a lot to smooth things over. Then I checked my bank statements. When I went to pay for the extras sub as room service I tried to pay using one credit card the payment was then voided as the girl took the card out too soon. This worked out in my favour as I then used another card that does not have international transaction fees. However both cards have been charged. Being from overseas chasing this up has proven to be extremely difficult. My advice stay away
