"great position"
Frangos is well positioned on the Main Street of Daylesford. The building is imposing, our room (techno) was huge and filled with light, and so was the lovely bathroom. The arched windows are stunning. Cafe koukla was great for breakfast with a cool, modern vibe. The bar and restaurant were also good, plus staff were friendly and helpful. There is something about it that felt a bit creepy to me, must have been the dark concrete walls and dramatic curtains - a gothic bordello feel. But it was all above board and a great place to stay overall.

"Perfect"
This was a very last minute booking, was unexpectedly impressed with accomodtion. It was perfect, clean, nice, warm, quite. The electric blankets were a massive bonus & we felt like the place all to ourselves - couldn't hear anyone else. It helped that we stayed on a Monday night I'm sure. This place was extremely well priced - I wouldn't spend more money on the big hotels that's for sure. I will make this my base from now on when I'm in town.

"Cosey, clean and compfy "
Had great night at Avala. Me and my partner where both greeted by the friendly owner and taken to our room. The heater was already on prior to us arriving. The bed was sooo soft and we had a free came of mini golf in the morning which was really fun. We will be back.

"Quiet and well located."
A very clean, quiet place, well located in Daylesford. We were only there for one night and found the accommodation to be roomy and convenient, the bed layout was excellent for two adults and two children, and bathroom and kitchen facilities more than adequate. An excellent option in Daylesford.

"Atmospheric and convenient"
Two nights spent. Use of bath only bathing looks good, but is a bit challenging. Open fire in room is superb and supplementary heating is very adequate. Most enjoyable experience. Plenty to do around the town and nearby - three days were not enough. Good dining at Mercato's

    Pocket Guide: Daylesford

Stay in our Daylesford accommodation and enjoy this scenic resort town, which boasts Australia's highest concentration of natural mineral springs. The architecture and gardens of the town have a distinctively European feel due to the high Italian and Swiss populations during the 1800s gold rush.

Relax and unwind, while staying in our Daylesford accommodation, there is plenty to see and do. Visit Lake Daylesford, which boasts mineral springs, walking tracks and BBQ areas, hire a canoe and explore the wildlife sanctuary of Jubilee Lake, take a walk around the gorge and fern-lined creek at Sailor's Falls, take a trip to the Mt Franklin Recreation Reserve and see an extinct volcano, or use our Daylesford accommodation as a base to visit the mineral spa resort town of Hepburn Springs, just five minutes from town.

Soak in local history, while staying in our Daylesford accommodation, by visiting the Historical & Cultural Museum; featuring Aboriginal artefacts and relics of the pioneer days or the Wombat Hill Botanical Gardens; established in 1863 atop an extinct volcano. The Gardens boasts beautiful views of the town, rare trees, a fernery and an award winning begonia display in February-March and a lookout tower. See the displays of photographs, clothing and Aboriginal artefacts at the Daylesford Historical Society Museum housed in the old School of Mines, built in 1890, and next door is the old primary school, built in 1874.
