We were able to check in two hours early which was great since we were staying after surgery. Bed was very comfortable and location of the hotel couldn't be better is you're having surgery at mass general or mass eye&ear.

For a luxury hotel I feel it is not the standard I expected. It was not at all even semi soundproof, as we heard the music from the lobby as well as people at the lift clearly. We could hear every sound from outside as well as the random banging sounds and toilets flushing. It was also a challenge to get coffee, as we had to ask three times for a machine. There was nothing to denote luxury in the linens and even the bathrobe was far more coarse than we expected. we asked for our gratis wine glass each day, never was given it. We asked for a car service and was told at 2 pm the concierge team said there was none at all that day-despite the website clearly stating we had it as part of the destination fee every day. All said, it was terribly disappointing and I will not stay there again nor recommend it. I could have had better at the courtyard

The lobby/ bar area is amazing with Christmas Trees decorated and hanging upside down from 5+ story ceiling. Room was clean and beautiful, but thin walls - could hear coughing next food off and on all night (that was only negative of the hotel). Staff was very helpful.

Our Nightmare Stay at The Liberty. On 9/13 into 9/14, we got back to our room after the Red Sox game and two NAKED PEOPLE in the room as we returned. The naked woman shoved my friend out of the room and deadbolted the door. We had stayed in the room the night before so we were freaked out and confused at how someone could get in our room. We later found out the people in our room were hotel guests staying in the room under ours but they were very drunk after drinking at the hotel bar and the most alarming part is their key worked to our room due to The Liberty's faulty key system. This is a complete privacy and safety violation not to mention just traumatizing. They had to call the Boston Police and they had to knock the door down at 3am with GUNS DRAWN! Thankfully no one was hurt! It's such a surreal situation at a luxury hotel where you are paying $800 a night for this room. The next morning, the GM Mark Fischer, was begging for forgiveness telling me "he has no words" and "obviously we will take care of this and when everything is settled, we will make things right". When I wrote him about the refund, was dismissed with a "Due to this matter being under investigation by the hotel and authorities as you have mentioned, I will not be able to afford any refund at this time until this investigation is closed by all parties." No apology, nothing. I followed up with him a few more times and Matthew (front desk manager) and no response from either. Now THAT'S Hospitality!
