The trip was a birthday trip for my sister, and we wanted to try a new hotel for this visit. Unfortunately, it was a bad idea, and we will never again choose to stay at this hotel. The prices are comparable to other hotels in the Back Bay area, but the quality of this hotel is unacceptable.
In the first room, she could not get the tv nor the internet to work, both amenities that the hotel lists on the website. She tried to use the phone to call the front desk to get help, but instead found that the phone in the room also didn’t work. The air conditioner in the room rattled nonstop, and the room reeked of mildew and mold. So, she used her cell phone to call the front desk, but the desk assistant hung up on her before she could fully state the issues with the room. She had to go in person to get help with the tv and internet problems.
She spoke with Claudia, the desk manager, who was unfriendly and abrasive, to advocate for a new room. This second room had a working tv and hotel phone but the internet worked intermittently. Additionally, the room smelled like cigarette smoke and urine. After this new room was not much better than the previous one, we decided an early checkout would be the best option.
There was no apology for the issues that my sister faced in the short time that she stayed at this hotel. Although the stay was scheduled for four nights, we instead decided to move to another hotel in the area for the remainder of her stay. We did not regret that decision.
