Ok but doesn't go the extra mile

Pros: Comfy beds. Good price.
Cons: That staff are all friendly and knowledgeable about things like buses etc.
The room was mostly tidy and comfortable. Comfy beds. A bit of plastering dust(?) on the floor in corner of the bathroom, and the room smelt like paint so must have been renovated recently. The front staff were mostly friendly and helpful, but when asked about buses etc. they had no timetables, and no real idea - just pointed to Lambton Quay, and said it had lots of buses. One letdown was the lady serving on the breakfast bar on Tuesday morning. No smiles, very short with us, and just didn't seem to want to be there. Saw her shove past a couple of her colleagues quite rudely too. Just puts a bit of a downer on what is an otherwise nice hotel. Would stay again if the staff were a bit more helpful and if all were friendly.

Wellington

Pros: In the city center
Cons: Refer to above
No electric blanket on the bed (it is winter), drapes too short so let in a lot of light and, I'm a small man, the shower is tiny

Hi Darcy, I do apologise that your nights sleep was uncomfortable with us, and while we do have an additional blanket in all of our rooms, the heater should be able to make each of our guests comfortable throughout their stay. I wil be working with our maintanence team across the week ahead to ensure we have addressed any of our in room heating concerns. I do hope that you will allow us an opportunity to serve you better in the future. Kind Regards Leigh Frame General Manager

We really enjoyed our stay at the Ibis Hotel and find the location in easy walking distance to all our requirements. Do think the breakfasts are too expensive though.

Thanks for your review of Ibis Wellington and glad that you enjoyed your stay. I appreciate your perspective of our breakfast pricing, however I respectfully disagree. I believe our breakfast buffet is a good reflection of the type of hotel we are and the price presents value for money. Hope to see you again. Regards Leigh Frame General Manager

When my friend went for breakfast (she had paid for breakfast the night before by credit card and had a receipt) they wanted proof that she had paid, she showed them the receipt and they still did not accept that. They said how could she have paid for breakfast the night before (which we all did separately). This was very disappointing and VERY rude. When i went to check out they said i had $100 to pay, this they said was for 3 breakfasts and $25 for parking. This as said was paid for the day before. very poor reception management.

Handy but early morning noise.

Pros: Handy for city. Good room layout.
Cons: Carpet cafe floor or otherwise prevent cafe noise reaching rooms above.
Location: Museums nearby include Wellington museum and Te papa about 10 mins walk away. Both excellent.
My room was above cafe and from 6am noise (heavy chairs scraping I think) woke me each morning.

Last minute decision cost way too much!

Pros: Location
Cons: Staffing numbers. Attitude great.
Location: Central city.
Great location, but, we picked a weekend when Hotel rooms were in short supply and had to pay 5 star rates for 3 star Hotel. Short staffed on Reception at 6.30pm when we checked in. Room clean, but, the Night Manager had to change the duvet for us because it was stained and hairy. Great shower! We also got some more pillows as the existing were flat and lumpy. Staff pleasant considering they appeared to be in short supply for volume of foot traffic.
