I had a terrible experience at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Toronto. I was in the city for surgery and checked in clearly bandaged and in discomfort, arriving only 20 minutes before the “official 3pm check-in”. Despite my condition, the front desk clerk showed zero awareness or compassion, simply telling me I had to wait until exactly 3pm for my room.
Once I did get checked in, the problems continued. The elevators were a nightmare—many weren’t working, and wait times were often 30–40 minutes just to get upstairs. They’ve responded saying that there’s always 2/3 elevators working, it’s not true, they’re lying. Inside the room, the walls were paper-thin; every door opening and closing down the hallway echoed loudly, making it impossible to rest.
To top it all off, when I entered my room, the “welcome” message on the TV wasn’t even for me—it had someone else’s name on it. Between being understaffed, poor service, and broken elevators, this was hands down one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I would never stay here again.
