Wow! The staff was amazingly helpful and absolutely wonderful! Bartender was full of advise for us! She really gave us wonderful places to visit! This was supposed to be an anniversary trip, and TRYP by Wyndham in San Juan completely ruined it. The place is a filthy, run-down scam—nothing like the pictures on Expedia. The outside looked abandoned, but we stayed open-minded… big mistake. The elevator was filthy, the halls smelled like moldy laundry, and our room was disgusting. The shower was covered in grime, tiles broken, and the bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in YEARS. We checked in and after noticing how poorly the rooms and bathrooms were we decided to make our way to the receptionist. We were in the room for less than 2 minutes before going back to the front desk and asked for a refund. The manager showed us another room "the upgraded ocean view room" that was just as nasty. Yellow grime in the bathroom, sticky residue on the night stands, beat up mini fridge, hair on the carpet. Juan the so-called manager was a useless rude, lying scammer. He refused to let us speak to a higher-up, lied about Expedia’s refund policy, and only agreed to cancel the reservation after we bribed him $100 cash. He has no place in hospitality he was smoking cigarettes on the job while dragging his feet. Extremely dishonest and unprofessional. I will never stay at a Wyndham property again. We left and booked the Royal Sonesta a block away—night and day difference. TRYP is a trash hotel with zero standards and shady staff. I’m disputing the charge and warning anyone reading this: DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. You will regret it.
