The bed had no sheets. The carpet was very dirty. The stoppers in the sinks didn't work. The light by the bed did not work. We asked for a blanket, but didn't receive it until the second day.

Subject: Formal Complaint – Unsanitary Conditions and Delayed Check-In at Costa Bahía Hotel, San Juan To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent stay at Hotel Costa Bahía in San Juan. Upon arrival, we experienced a delayed check-in. Although check-in was scheduled for 4:00 PM, we did not receive our room until approximately 4:40 PM. This was especially frustrating as we had been traveling since 4:00 AM and were exhausted. There was no express check-in option available, nor was there any effort made to accommodate guests arriving early after long travel. More concerning were the unacceptable and unsanitary conditions of the room. The bed was clearly not properly cleaned. There were visible hairs and dirt on the bedding, and the mattress cover itself was stained and dirty. There was no additional clean sheet provided to properly cover ourselves. The floors were dirty and sticky, and the room had a foul odor upon entry. Due to Super Bowl festivities, alternative hotel accommodations were unavailable, leaving us with no option but to remain in the room despite these conditions. It was extremely disappointing and uncomfortable. The overall cleanliness and condition of the room were unacceptable and did not meet basic hospitality standards. I will be attaching photographs to document the condition of the room. I respectfully request a formal review of this matter and appropriate compensation for the inconvenience and di

Old hotel, it’s not a continental breakfast, it’s also only for certain rooms, room stinks like mold. Parking is far and not free. Outdated hotel. For the price it is not even close to being worth it. Would never stay again. Security is not nice either. Desk staff is ok. Weird lobby too.

I’m only giving this hotel two stars because the staff was genuinely nice. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. I booked the presidential suite and was assigned room 733, and we didn’t even get into the room until well after 4 PM. As soon as we walked in, the smell of mold hit us immediately. It wasn’t subtle at all—it was overwhelming. Mold was visible on the walls, ceiling, drapery, and furniture. On top of that, there was dust and hair everywhere (definitely not ours), which made the room feel completely unsanitary. I was honestly scared to even sit on the bed. I had to lay my clothes down just to feel somewhat comfortable being in the room, and even then I felt disturbed. This is absolutely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one advertising a presidential suite. I really wish I had taken the bad reviews more seriously before booking. The condition of this room was shocking and nowhere near what’s advertised. Friendly staff can’t make up for a space that feels dirty, unhealthy, and neglected.
