Nice views and comfortable beds

This was a nice hotel and I would stay here again. The view from our room was of downtown San Diego, which was lovely. The view from the restaurant as a lovely marina. The food was good, although the crab in my crab salad was canned (I hate canned crab). But the salad itself was delicious. They were doing some contruction in the lounge area, but it wasn't a problem. They were also paining the hallway on our floor, but, again, it wasn't a problem. We just had to walk on plastic. It was the off-season, so it's not unusual to do work.

The marina and bay views from the room and restaurant were gorgeous. The restaurant had good food and the service throughout the hotel was great. The hotel was a decent driving distance from the zoo. There are a couple of restaurants and coffee shops in reasonable walking distance from the hotel.

My first night someone was so loud in room 138 next-door to us that we were unable to sleep all night. I called the front desk. They did absolutely nothing about it. Next night was the same exact thing I called twice they told me about time security was gonna be sent down. I heard Security walked down the second time And nothing was done. Second night got absolutely no seat was told that we would be taking care of which to me was money back off the room and that did not happen so a terrible Stay the beautiful hotel was gorgeous. Some of the staff was very friendly but no customer service to take care of an issue at 12:30 and 130 and 2 o’clock in the morning. I am still waiting for a refund and I was told when I called my card that I needed to call the hotel. The hotel says they have nothing to do with it because I went through a third-party so now I’m back to my card so it’s a back-and-forth thing.

The hotel and grounds were clean and well kept. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We ate at their restaurant two of the five nights we were there - it was excellent, and the bar and restaurant staff were great!

When we first arrived everything seemed fine. The room was a bit outdated and the pictures hanging were really crooked. We noticed the commode was running and not filling the tank. We let front desk know, they supposedly sent someone up while we were gone, but, the commode still ran all night unless you took the back off and physically pushed the plunger down to refill tank. When we asked if we could do a little late checkout because our flight time was pushed back (we only asked to stay an extra 15-30 min). We were told no right away because they had someone waiting on the room, which is weird because check-in isn’t until 4pm for guest the next day. The bartender on Friday night 4/25 was rude, and was more worried about getting back to the group he had been talking to than to actually help us. I asked him if we could put our drinks on our room charge and he just made a crappy comment, something about “only if you’re staying here”. Now why would I ask if I wasn’t staying at the hotel? Also the margarita he made, if you could even call it that, tasted like straight up syrupy lemonade. The gentleman working the front desk at night was probably the only person that we encountered that was nice, very kind and very helpful. He answered any questions we had about the area and offered good recommendations.
