Our stay at the Days Inn on Rideau Street was very disappointing, and I would not recommend this location. The room and facilities were in poor condition, and the overall cleanliness was unacceptable. The staff did not seem attentive or interested in resolving concerns, and the experience fell far below expectations. After a long trip, we were hoping for a comfortable and welcoming stay, but instead found it stressful and unpleasant. This was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had, and I hope management takes this feedback seriously to improve future guest stays.

The hotel does not have parking for vehicles higher than about 2 m. I had a canoe on my car and could not enter the hotel parking area - I had to pay to park at a nearby private parking lot. It was noisy for about 30 minutes - loud talking in the parking area. Almost every light fixture in the room was either broken, the light bulb burnt out or was endless flickering such that it had to be turned off or eventually burned itself out (bathroom mirror light for example).

During our stay, we lost power to the TV, fridge and outlets. After asking the front desk informed us that a neighbouring room had blown a breaker, and that power would be restored in the morning. We had to inform them that wasn't acceptable. Finally a new room was offered, on the 4th floor, which was very loud with mechanical noises heard from our room during the entire stay.

My stay at the Days Inn Downtown Ottawa was completely unacceptable from start to finish. When I first arrived, the front door was locked, and there were no staff members anywhere to be seen. I had to stand outside for nearly 15 minutes repeatedly pressing the call button before anyone finally let me in — an immediate red flag for how poorly this place is run. Once inside, I was placed in the motel section, which is never shown in their online photos. The room was filthy: there were stains on the walls, bedding, and nightstand, with red stains on the curtains, a dirty bathroom, and an air conditioner full of mold. The overall atmosphere felt unsafe, unclean, and completely unwelcoming. When I requested a room change (despite other rooms clearly being available), I was refused. I also asked for a refund because I felt extremely uncomfortable and unsafe, but was again denied. The staff were unhelpful, dismissive, and showed no concern for guest safety or cleanliness. This hotel is misleading, unsanitary, and poorly managed. It does not match the photos or descriptions online, and no one should have to endure such conditions. For your own comfort and safety, avoid this place at all costs.

First day no coffee pods , phone not working l had to the front desk with my cellphone for 2 days , toilet not flushing had to wait until the next day for maintenance with waste in the toilet…disgustingly dirty carpets , spider webs on walls and ceiling. Never will I book a Days Inn again in any city. I’m an airline and travel frequently. I learnt my lesson..to never book a Days Inn again.

Even if the hotel is quite outdated, the rooms were clean, the bed were comfortable. The elevator and hallway smell weird. The hotel is well situated, good walking distance from the shopping center and the Parliament.

This was an affordable option close to interesting city landmarks. I was travelling for work and needed to do some work but the office chair in my room was broken. I asked the staff for a chair but did not receive any help until I went back to the desk the following morning and asked to take one of their chairs. The facility is poorly maintained with a few things broken. The shower curtain pole was missing screws on both sides and fell down on me when drawing the curtain. You'll be close to parlement but I strongly suggest that you consider other facilities.
