I feel the hotel is over-priced and took too long to check in (>15 mins). Staff need to be more knowledgeable when it comes to assisting guests.

Parking was limited in the public area across from the hotel. They will bill you once checked in but we found it difficult to get an available spot when arriving late. Cleaning staff started knocking on doors around us at 8am, which woke us up and made it so we couldn’t fall back asleep. I’d definitely stay here again, would just wear my earplugs and arrive a bit earlier. You don’t need a car when staying here. You could walk to shops and things.

The parking is in a public parking area. You will get fined if you mix the two letters opposite. And the staff asked me to go to the public parking office to check myself. But no one was there and asked me to go back again and again. I meant I paid for parking at your hotel. You should be in charge of it. The staff just rolled the ball, said I will ask my manager. But when I talked to the manager, she said, my manager would come tomorrow at 8. Which is no one helped really.

No bottled water

I absolutely love this hotel but I have decided I probably won’t stay at it again just for the simple fact that it didn’t supply bottled water. I have a couple ill illnesses that I deal with and I need to take medication almost 4 times a day and then at bedtime, so it’s nice to have bottled water and I have never been at a hotel yet where they didn’t have it This being sad they did have it downstairs but I had to pay nearly $10 for four bottles and I just really found that I stayed at a hotel that was more than other hotels. I’ve stayed at in Nanaimo before and I would’ve expected. They would’ve had bottled water fortheir customers. Maybe it’s something that you should ask at the front desk if people need any water because I need water it’s not an effect. Their customers. I do not drink water out of a tap. Please let people know because the pills that I take at night time I need water to take them and I will not drink hotel water. I will not drink City water sorry if I sound like a prima donna. I’m not!!

We specifically booked this hotel for the pool/hot tub. We booked it on the day we stayed there, several hours before we got there. It was dissapointing to see that the heater was broken. I think something should have been done, like gift card or something, for that. They should tell you this when you book.

Privacy and Security breach

It was clear that there was something or someone of a security concern nearby that was unsettling from the get go. I called and confirmed an early check in for between 1 to 2 however was not able to get jnto my room until 4:30. Most importantly and concerning is after being in the lounge area for 2-3 hours (after checking in and being in my room) i went to my room for the night and my door was open with the deadbolt switched over, which absolutely suggests someone was in there while i was in the lobby area. Coincidently the person i was travelling with advised they were not necassarily a supporter of the politician that we learned the following day was also staying there while conversing with another supposed guest of the Hotel. The "security" team for this person were so obvious depsite their best efforts and i have no doubt were in my room while i was not.When i approached the staff it was clear that they were not being honest about what had occurred and only offered to move me into another room. They missed the point entirely, if you'll allow someone to go into my initially reserved room why would another one be any different? I asked if they had cameras in the hallways so we could all determine whether my concerns were warranted and was told they do not, which is VERY hard to believe being a very new, modern, downtown hotel. I would never stay here again based on that alone.
