DO NOT STAY HERE! This place is scamming people out of money. When checking out they will provide you with one receipt however when you get home your card will be charged something else. There are a ton of people in the reviews talking about being charged extra charges. We were charged $70 for two bottles of water and a pack of M&M that were supposedly taken out of the room. There were NO M&M’s on the bar to start with in the room and we had our own drinks so we never touched the water that was in the room. When calling, I was told they could not take a house keeping fee off but the guy on the phone said he would take off the resort and email me an updated copy of the receipt. He also said he saw where it was a mistake in the amount we were charged for the items we never took. I never got the email he promised and have NOT been provided a refund. In fact, when I call now I am automatically sent to the operator and no one never picks up. This is a repeat pattern for this hotel based on reviews.

The location of the Fairwind is excellent. A very quick walk to the beach with lots of dining options around. The hotel itself could use a bit of an update and more attention to cleaning. Some dust strings hanging from the ceiling, the odd dead bug stuck in a corner. We only stayed for one night and noticed these things right away.

The location of the the fairwind is great. A block from the beach and all maind attraction free trolley a block away to get around south beach and bus downtown to get into brickell or bayside a block away. Area is walkable to nught life and restaurants and beach. The bar like everything else in south beach a bit pricey. The lounge area around roof top pool a bit small and narrow. Pool was freezing should be heated for winter and spring months. But overall would stay here again.

Close to the beach and lots of restaurants.

Stayed here to be close to the beach and it was only 2 blocks away. Great place to be close for walking to many restaurants and shows. Very centrally located.

My stay at the hotel wasnt the worst, but wasnt the best. Main key points that made my trip unpleasant was 1- there was only ice on the first floor. Which means i had to leave the building to go to another building to get ice or any necessities. 2- the check in process was ok, but the young lasyfy that checked me in was unaware of what i was being charged when checking in (her total was different than the expedia total i was provided). And with her lack of English, it made ir very difficult to understand and made the process longer than needed. Also 3- upon checking out (at 4:30am) there were 2 homeless men sleeping outside of my door. They had closed themselves off and got extremely comfortable. The same young lady was there when i checked out and told me thats nor possible as they have security and check every hour…which had to be untrue. This is a HUGE safety issue for me and no consideration was taken.

Nice but a party hotel

This hotel is one block off the beach, good location. The issue is they have a dance party in their courtyard until 2:00am with music blasting. Then another hour until all the people screaming leave. If you are there to party, great place, if you are there to out out and come in at 11:00 to sleep, wrong place.

Great location hotel is alright

Location of the hotel is outstanding. One block off South Beach and lots of options for food/alcohol in walking distance. Hotel itself is old but has been remodeled. Bathroom was great with high pressure/hot water in the shower. Room doesn't have a closet which is odd. No where to hang clothes even though they provide hangers. Has a rooftop pool which is great. Beds need updated.
