About this space
The cottage is a large one-bedroom guesthouse, barely visible from our main house. Very private with gorgeous canyon views and absolutely no traffic noise!
The space
We call our guesthouse the "Secret Cottage" because you almost can't believe you can find this much tranquility in Los Angeles County. A simple, rustic kind of elegance prevails in this unique hideaway, accessible by a narrow, bumpy road the likes of which are rarely seen in the first world. Only a mile and a half from the main road, you'll feel like you've gone back in time as you pass horses, goats and sheep along the way. The house has 1 large, well appointed BR with a new mattress and bamboo floors. Comfortable bath with antique vanity connects to both bedroom and living room. Spacious living room has a comfortable sofa bed, and an inflatable mattress is also available. Three sets of French doors open to a lovely deck. A full "foodie" kitchen comes with everything you'll need to cook gourmet meals, usually including honey, eggs and citrus from our ranch when available! Kitchen doors open to a stone patio with a Moroccan tile table. There's a large unheated pool shared with the main house, and breathtaking views in every direction. Roadrunners, coyotes, hawks and hummingbirds share this paradise, and you can eat meals outside most of the year. From the patio, you can even see a distant glimpse of ocean on a (very) clear day. Great for lovers, writers, naturalists, healers, mountain bikers, adventurers, photographers and anyone who loves LA best from a slight distance!

The cottage is all yours! The entire property is 12 acres and you are welcome to wander around. Large pool and hot tub are shared with main house only.

The property is secluded and very private. Host was quick to answer questions and very pleasant. Beautiful spot with lots of birds, frogs, and lizards. I would definitely recommend staying here.

This place is even better in person than it is online. Lynn was a phenomenal host. The decor was fitting for the environment and really cool!Make sure to eat at some of the local restaurants nearby! You won’t be disappointed.

Cottage was phenomenal!! The house is beautiful and comfortable and the views are breathtaking. The whole place is magical. Lynn was incredibly responsive and friendly. You’re in her guest house so she’s right there if you need anything but you still have tons of privacy. Perfect for a solo traveler or a romantic getaway.Note that the road to the house is no joke! It’s well maintained but narrow, steep, winding, although a regular car can handle it. Just go slow and arrive in daylight if you can - I’d say it’s about 10 minutes off the main road. But you don’t get this kind of Garden of Eden paradise if it’s too easy to get there! Also bring provisions - while there are relatively nearby shops (15 min), once you arrive you will not want to leave. The kitchen was well stocked w cookware, oils, spices, but you will want to arrive with groceries.So tempted to keep this secret cottage for myself but I’ve already told everyone I know about it. :)
