Its not the best area. The hotel is a bit tired and needs an update. However its safe, convenient to downtown LA and all the sites, parking is easy and the price is right. Its also very quiet. If you are on a budget and need to be near downtown this is the place.

First of let me say HANDS DOWN MAJOR KUDOS TO DAVID. My original stay was at the Rodeway inn across the street. It was an absolute nightmare and I did not feel safe or comfortable there property and units in port condition. I ran across the street encountered David and made sure they had rooms available before I canceled rodeway inn and brought my stuff over. He is absolutely professional, courteous, very well organized and managed and excellent excellent excellent service. Made my stay feel like I was at a 5 star hotel the level of service he provided. He had answers for everything, very knowledge and helpful during my 9 day stay at the property. He even gave me a tour of the rooms before I went to book there to put my mind at ease from the experience I was having across the street. True gentleman and cares for the needs of the guests. One of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in years and I’ve stayed at larger chain properties 4star and up and his level of service meets that of a 5 star hotel.

The Live Hotel was an excellent experience!

I arrived in LA for the LA Times Festival of Books. The Live Hotel was very close to the USC campus where the event was being held. The staff at Live was friendly and accommodating and I felt at home and looked forward to getting back to my comfortable room at the end of a series of long days!

Around the hotel has a large homeless population and with that comes the associated gatherings etc on various streets. Whilst we felt perfectly safe during the day, we wouldnt venture out to walk the streets after dark. Pick the hotel up and move it and this would be the ideal place to stay with lovely staff and rooms.

Check in was kind of weird with the virtual guy, but fine. Paid for parking, but then there were no spots so had to stay in the check in parking spot. There was a giant stain on the carpet in our room. Bed was comfy. Good location.

Parking situation

It was Overall a good stay. Only complaint really was parking. I paid for parking but since a party was going on I wasn’t able to park until 11pm. Very inconvenient with small babies walking down the dark street. I had to find a street parking.

A sexy, elegant place to stay.

Live Hotel is an excellent place for lodging. Modern and smart finishes enhance the room. I love the staircase and its mid century feel. If they can enhance the morning food options at Tom and Tom’s they’ll be killing it.

I love that the Live Hotel had the most cutest little coffeshop inside called toms n toms. Was so easy to grab coffee and breakfast before my daughters Cheer competition. I also loved that it was a short drive to The Grove mall.

The stay was exactly what I needed for my conference, as it was 10 minutes away. But there was no dresser to unpack clothes and such. And it was very noisy being so close to the city, not to mention the A/C unit made bothersome sound. Bedsheets were comfortable, except for when I found stray hairs and dust in them. Other than that it was fine.

Why charge when we left clean.

Our stay was great and we left the room clean and even took out the trash and still got charged from our deposit.💀💀💀

Great location!

Really appreciate the convenience of this hotel to downtown Los Angeles (less than 10 minutes by car in the morning), and the nearby restaurants are great. If you love Mexican Food, don't miss The Rodeo restaurant less than a block away. Check-in at this hotel is fast and convenient. Cleanliness is A++++. The little TomTom restaurant is great for a little breakfast and a hot Latte in the morning.
