It is perfectly situated for travelers coming from Heathrow via the train. Good options for food and drink very close by. Very neat & tidy. Just take care when booking - I thought I was booking a double room but afterwards I found it was a twin room; it cost extra to change it at the reception desk. Probably my mistake but suggest taking care.

I arrived and there were black hairs all over the bed. I don’t have hair so pretty sure they weren’t mine. In addition to this, there was a half drunk bottle of water by the side of the bed when I checked in. When I asked room service about this they just said ‘oh, it probably belongs to the last occupant‘. Like, you didn’t clean it before I checked in? Add to this the surliness of the reception staff when I checked in who acted like I was inconveniencing then. Not really necessary after a 27 hour flight. In fairness the two female reception were much friendlier the next day. Bit over it by then though.

Charles in concierge is a wonderful man! The hotel is quite old and needs refurbishment. Starting with the elevators. I was stuck in a lift for 10mins as it went to different floors and wouldn’t open the doors. Not up to Hilton standards. The big old building means no phone/internet reception. WiFi is patchy.

Old Art Deco building is worn down and worn out. £13 PER DAY - extra - charge for internet! Everything is badly in need of refresh. The bath towel had holes. Stitching is coming off the bedsheets, scuff marks on the walls, leather chair scratched & not repaired... Definitely not worth the money paid for a Hilton experience. Extremely disappointed.
