We arrived at this hotel around 4 AM after an exhausting 11-hour drive, only to find out the hotel had marked us as a “no show” and completely canceled our reservation. What makes this even more frustrating is that I had called the front desk at 6:23 PM to let them know we would be arriving very late and even asked if we could check in over the phone. The gentleman assured me it wouldn’t be an issue and that we could check in upon arrival.
Well, that was clearly not communicated to anyone. When we arrived, there were no notes, no record of the call, and it turned into a headache just to get our reservation reinstated. I did show the clerk my phone which showed record of my call.
On top of that, the entire building had an overwhelming, pungent odor, and once we finally got into our room, it was even worse. The room was filthy, unclean, and smelled so strong that my nose actually hurt and my eyes were irritated. That is not an exaggeration—it was genuinely uncomfortable to breathe in the room.
After everything we had already been through, this was extremely disappointing. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it to anyone.
