Never stayed before, chose high up room for view and it didn't disappoint. Food was lovely, staff really helpful and it's relatively easy to get to with good parking. It's near a station so is still a good base for the town.

Booked wrong date by mistake (ie) wrong month. Noticed my error after a couple of days. Tried to reschedule my dates with the hotel who would not. Tried to get a refund and after waiting days to respond. Finally got told they would not. Poor service in my opinion from hotel management which clearly only care about taking in cash oppose to actual treating customers fairly after a genuine mistake. Won’t be staying with this lot agin in the future.

Great Staff but a couple of suggestions

I have stayed at the Crowne Plaza on a couple of occasions now and on our recent visit the service was excellent the staff are super friendly and helpful. The room with a view was lovely, bed very comfortable but a couple of improvements required - not enough plug sockets for the kettle and using powdered scrambled egg is s big no for me too, I asked for an omelette which most 4 star hotels accommodate but this request was refused, even though chefs were walking around in chef hats.

1) We chose a suite for our one-week stay at the end of August. We liked the separate rooms – bedroom, bathroom and lounge, all separated by conventional doors to divide them from each other, and from the entrance lobby. 2) We liked having a television in each room (bedroom and lounge), both of which provided Sky TV, which we used to watch different sports in each room. 3) We liked the complementary drinks and snacks – 2 bottles of beer, 2 cans of wine, 2 cans of soft drinks, 2 packs of crisps and 2 packs of biscuits, which were replenished each day – if we used them. That was in addition to the tea, coffee and hot chocolate provisions. 4) The sofa in the lounge was very comfortable for watching TV. There was also a swivel armchair, which I didn’t try, as I thought I might not be able to get out of it again! The other seating was an office-type swivel chair at the desk, and an armchair in the bedroom. 5) In the lobby was a double wardrobe, but only one half had a hanging rail. Once I had hung my clothes, there was no space for my partner’s, so he put the (provided) ironing board in the lounge, and placed his clothes on that for the whole week. There were no drawers in which to keep socks, underwear, etc. 6) The fridge was in the cupboard under the bedroom TV. It would have been more convenient to have the fridge in the identical cupboard under the lounge TV. When I needed cold water whilst my partner was asleep, I disturbed him. Wait time for lifts to room was long. Changing facilities in swimming pool untidy. Rented an umbrella, returned but an excessive amount was taken from my bank account the hotel refused to take any responsibility even though the name was clearly advertised on it.

Right on the river. Walking path. Window in hotel did not open (probably for safety reasons, but the breeze would have been nice). Good food at breakfast, with a wide variety, including cook to order, available.

Amazing hotel with amazing staff

The staff at Crown Plaza Glasgow were absolutely amazing. It was my wife’s birthday and they went above and beyond to make the day special for her. The reception staff were helpful, friendly and had a sense of humour. There was one member of the reception staff who always had a laugh and a joke with me when he saw me (I can’t remember his name but he was young and his name started with a M). Nothing was too much trouble for them, the room was cleaned daily and the food for breakfast and dinner was just lovely. A few downsides…. There were areas of our room that were not clean, some red/orange stains on the carpet, the aircon/heating wasn’t the best and the toilet took several flushes to get rid of waste/toilet roll. but this wasn’t a big deal with the overall experience. The shower was absolutely amazing, I could have stopped in there for hours. By far one of the best experiences in a hotel in the UK.
