Living room couch, slight smell and bedroom t v was not working properly.Overall place was clean. Communication was a bit spotty but overall okay

We ended up not staying. It was clean enough but we almost didn't make it to our room.The owner never mentioned that there were 20 stairs to get to the room. Not 1 picture or anything in the description. If we'd known before hand we never would have booked.The neighborhood was sketchy. The parking was not easy at all. The first railing was very rickety, not safe at all. We bought cancellation insurance but they are making it very hard.

The surrounding area felt a little unsafe, particularly at night. Wifi was not very strong. There was no hand soap in the bathroom and the furniture seemed a bit old. The water dispenser on the fridge didn't work. However the kitchen and bed were pretty nice. It worked for what we (young married couple) needed for a short visit, but it was not glamorous. The owner was pretty responsive, even at odd hours. Check-in was easy enough, but the check-out process was unclear as we did not receive check-out instructions.
