This room was definitely neglected! Very stale smell and stains and hairs in many locations. Hairs in shower, hairs on the bed, mold in the grout, pee smell around toilet, carpet needed to be cleaned badly etc. I had to open the windows and leave the room to let it air out. I asked management to refresh my room and was told that housekeeping only comes every 3 days. I was there for 4 days and no housekeeping ever came. From what I gathered, the hotel itself only operates some of the rooms and the rest are condos. Perhaps the cleaning staff is different there because the reviews for those rooms were much better and the guests appeared happy. I will say that the location is great for exploring Carlsbad and if you treat it like a place to rest your head and bring some clorox, you will be OK. Also, there is a VERY LOUD train that blows it's horns repeatedly when crossing just a block away from 5am to just after midnight EVERY day. If you are a light sleeper beware or bring ear plugs. I would not stay here again.

The room was extremely clean and the staff very hospitable. The room was fully stocked for any meal and it was great having the grills available to use when needed. A great place to stay a few steps away from the beach and many shops and restaurants.

Loved the location. Loved the amenities. Very family friendly. The only downside was that the room was a little run down and the property smelled a little musty, but maybe that comes with being so close to the ocean.

I was so surprised at how large the room was. The kitchen was fully stocked and had everything I needed. My only comment would be to maybe have two bottles of water in the fridge, but other than that it's perfect!

It’s a nice hotel in an ideal location. The amenities are great with a large grass area with tables and overlooking the ocean. An adult only hot tub and a family pool and jacuzzi too. On site activities, steps from the beach and downtown and an activity center that gives out beach chairs boogie boards towels etc.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The 1 bedroom condo felt like a home away from home. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the dishes you’ll need. We loved it so much we are going back next year and staying longer.
