The Angel Hotel next to the Arms Park and Castle.

Once I arrived at the Angel Hotel I was greeted by the lovely entrance way as can be seen in the photos. There is something lovely and grand about the hotel as you enter it. I was greeted in reception by a lovely young man (sorry forgot your name). He advised me that I had been put in an upgraded room and I also had breakfast as part of my package. The room was a little dated but the bed was comfy and I had plenty of room. Even with it being on the first floor virtually on the corner of 2 busy streets I didn't hear much traffic noise at all. Maybe because the fan was going all night as it was super hot and the room has no air con. However I did not let that spoil the stay. Breakfast was ok although I did have to wait for 5 minutes or so to be seated, as the two people on duty seemed to have taken a break or had a staff meeting as they both came back in together. Breakfast was hot and that was good. Then I left to come home.

An older hotel without bells and whistles but with plenty of style and character. Rooms were clean and comfy with basic necessities, staff were accessible and friendly, and the location was in convenient walking distance to many things downtown.

Très déçus par l’hôtel Établissement vieillissant décrépi -mobilier et décoration chambre anciens, Les matelas des lits jumeaux étaient très mauvais, il y avait un gros creux en plein milieu. points positifs, sa situation face au Château, taille de la chambre et les petites attentions produits salle de bain- à signaler difficultés de stationnement, et pas de zone de déchargement bagages Petit déjeuner correct le tarif était raisonnable, mais grosse déception quand même

Comfortable stay.

A lovely building. The lobby was welcoming as was the staff at check in. The room was clean and tidy. A bit dated and quite small for a deluxe twin. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, continental was poor, lack of choice, the hot breakfast was ok but not very hot. All in all a comfortable stay.

We loved our deluxe suite as it had been renovated but had kept somebof ghe rraditional featyres. It was spacious, quiet, clean and ggd bed was very comfortable.

The hotel is amazingly placed for what we needed (going to Cardiff Castle) and staff were really friendly and helpful. The room we had was large, but in desperate need of refurbishment and was pretty dirty in places, lots of cobwebs, really dirty skirting boards, stains on the walls, lamp shades and wall paper peeling, grouting in bathroom missing and loose tiles etc. there was also a petty old looking fuse box on the wall.
