I stayed on 19th December and was impressed by how beautifully the hotel's ground floor had been decorated for Christmas. (The Christmas tree on the top of the first short flight of stairs was the first thing to catch my eye.) There was no queue at Reception and I was delighted to receive an upgrade to the twin room I had booked. Now we would have a twin and a King room, the King being particularly spacious and set off beautifully by the near-Solstice sun lowering in the west. I rated everything 5 stars, as regards comfort, cleanliness, facilities and so on. I'm baffled why I have never stayed there before. Had I done so years ago, I would never have stayed anywhere different in Cardiff. No gimmicks, simply restful. The property is on a traffic junction but I found it peaceful enough and quiet at night.

I Stay at the Angel hotel quite a bit . Location is probably the best for me . With work close by too . When I go out like concerts in Cardiff or just leisure the Angel offers a good price too keep watching on prices as they do go up during seasonal times & anything that’s goes on in Cardiff . Well pleased with the Angel , staff friendly service even the cleaners say helllo !

This lovely hotel is full of charm, the entrance and foyer is beautiful. Rooms were spacious and clean, I would say however that overall the whole place could do with a lick of paint. The outside, halls and room just look a little bit tired and with minimum effort (paint/ re-stain the bathroom wood) this hotel could be back to its absolute best. That being said those things are only cosmetic and I will 100% be staying again

It is a great few days away in this fantastic city - the architecture and cultural vibe are fantastic. The hotel is conveniently located, and we had a bath and a shower, which was a bonus. The back stairs were a bit scruffy, and the heating pipes were exposed, making them an H&S risk, in my opinion, as they were hot to the touch. I was really disappointed that the car park was not available despite it being listed as being available in the literature within the room. There are no plugs for chargers, etc, near the bed and limited power outlets in the room.

We had a great trip at the Angel Hotel. The receptionist was brilliant when we were checking in and out, very helpful and friendly. Night staff were very helpful with questions about the next day. We over for Connacht v Cardiff and the rugby pitch was literally walk out the front door and across the road. Had lovely views of the castle. Will definitely be back..
