Great Location, great service, but COLD SHOWER

I give high marks for customer service and cleanliness. Also, location was excellent. The front desk was friendly and helpful with directions. My only complaint was the first morning, I had a cold shower. Even though I turned the dial and knob as far as I could, it was still not hot. I literally had to lather up and turn off the water, and then turn on to get a lukewarm rinse. Quite a disappointment. When I told the front desk, Cameron said he would advise he housekeeping to adjust my shower for the next day. And the next day it was fine.

Fantastic people, couldn't be better

Along weekend to see my son in Cardiff. The hotel is in an excellent location. I have some disabilities which cause me mobility issues. Throughout the stay the staff were exceptional, friendly, helpful absolutely top notch from the cleaner that dropped what he was doing to open doors for me to Sarah serving breakfast, who seeing i was struggling with the breakfast buffet, basically acted as my butler for the meal. There are a couple of very minor issues, its quite aconfusing layout and internal signage could be better, the beds are very high and quite soft, which makes it slightly difficult for me but i totally understand is fine for some others so its very much a personal thing. The hotel has obviously thiught about accessibility, the one adaption i need is a bit of kit called a bed lever, it allows me to get in and out of bed much easier. They are revovable, and portable and really not expensive, at which point im amazed that hotels dont keep one or two in the maintenance department if people need them. They clearly want to be accessible and this would seem an easy way to achieve it

Top option for a stay in Cardiff

Comfortable beds and good showers. Great location just off Queen St. Easy walking distance to many great restaurants and bars and the shopping centres. Parking available very close to the hotel with a very good discount for guests. Reception staff extremely friendly and helpful. Decent breakfast with good and frienedly service.

Not a perfect stay

Staff are very helpful and friendly. They deserve a shout out. There was an unexpected incident during my stay. Electricity went off at night and it disturbed my resting schedule. Nevertheless, your staff did everything they could to calm the customers. I can’t say my stay was perfect but it ended up not too bad when the incident came into the equation.

It was absolutely wonderful- very clean and welcoming and the bed was really comfortable. Also the scent of the toiletries was beautiful. The only issue was that when I phoned about where to park, I was put through to a central office and not the hotel - so although I was told the right car park, I paid upfront online, as I was not told about the hotel code that essentially made it half price. Not the hotel’s fault just the central call office 😊

Absolutely amazing, So comfy and a few steps away from the centre of Cardiff. Shops, bars, nightlife plus Cardiff museum, Castle. Every member of staff we met were so friendly and welcoming. Rose in the Restaurant was an absolute delight. All the staff members were top notch! Rooms are designed really well, bathroom has everything needed. Bed comfy and love the comforter 💕 Hairdryer was good and saves bringing own. Plenty of tea, coffee etc and fridge has bottled water. Breakfast is very good, plenty of choice and fresh. You can order from a menu if you don’t like full English or continental. Fresh coffee on request or machine with lots of choices. The entrance is within an arcade with a few shops. If you return after 11pm you just buzz for entry. We will definitely return as it’s a gem of a hotel.

We had an amazing stay here for my daughter’s birthday. The staff were all friendly, professional, approachable and helpful. We stayed in a twin queen room, which was perfect. Great sized room, very clean. And we had breakfast the following morning. Plenty of choice of hot, cold and continental breakfasts with the option of having something cooked fresh for you from the available menu. We will definitely be returning, and would have no problem recommending the hotel to family and friends.

I loved the quirkiness of this hotel. It is down a little arcade (I did walk past a couple of times before I found it). The reception staff were very friendly and efficient. I did find it strange having to go out of the reception area back into the arcade to find the lifts, but it turns out the building is split into two, one side is accessed from the lift in reception, the other by the lifts in the arcade. My room was very nice and quiet. I loved the three different light settings in the bathroom. My only criticism was the bathroom radiator which needed a good clean. The breakfast was good and quickly replenished when items ran low. It is in a great position, just a few minutes walk from the castle and in the middle of the shopping area. I will definitely visit this hotel again.
