This hotel was excellent. The staff were exceptionally generous, friendly, and understanding — every single person we encountered was so kind and accommodating. The room was spotless, and the toiletries were so well-stocked that we didn’t need to request anything additional during our stay.
One very important note for future guests: the Kenmore and Fenway rooms are quite different. When we called to book directly through Hotel Commonwealth, we were transferred to a third-party reservation line. The representative incorrectly informed us that the only difference between the Kenmore and Fenway rooms was the view.
In reality, upon arrival, we learned that the Fenway rooms are located in the hotel’s newer, recently renovated building, while the Kenmore rooms are part of the original section and have not yet been remodeled. The Fenway rooms are noticeably more updated — with glass shower doors instead of curtains, no rust on bathroom fixtures, and an overall fresher, modern feel.
Fortunately, the front desk staff were extremely gracious and went above and beyond to help us switch to a Fenway room, which made a huge difference in our experience. I would highly recommend booking a Fenway room if available — and I’m very grateful to the staff for their professionalism and kindness throughout our stay.
