The building was charming and historic, the bar staff pleasant and helpful. The room itself was perfectly functional with a nicely presented bathroom. The clean bedding and towel sufficed, the access was fine especially late at night. My only real issue was the less than salubrious area Which felt a little intimidating at night

I booked this hotel for a last minute mini break for myself and my best friend. The hotel was the cheapest i could find with decent reviews so we decided to go for it. The pub is quirky and welcoming, with a selection of board games, the hotel is dated but all in order and well kept. My ONLY criticism is that the bath room had had a wipe over but i don't believe it had had a decent deep clean in a while. Otherwise, for the price, it was brilliant. Despite being above a pub, it was really quiet, much quieter than any well known chain hotel i have been in, except for the busy road in the near vicinity, if busy roads bother you, you may want some ear plugs! Its walkable in 10-15 minutes to the centre of Birmingham. So perfect for a shopping trip. I've recommended the hotel to my family for when my sister has a stall at Birmingham christmas Market 🎄

Parking right next door was very handy. £7.20 a day, done through the RingGo app which was easy to download and use eg extending stay after 24 hours. Staff friendly and helpful. Had a meal one evening and it was tasty and filling and good value. Beer options good - had 2 real ale pumps. Interesting decor in bar! Room reasonably priced but we were a bit disappointed. Had to find a hoover to do bedroom floor as it was a bit messy but rest of room/bathroom very clean. Single bed was rather tired- you could feel the springs, but double bed was very comfy. The blinds in the bathroom didn't quite fit. And we suggest using earplugs as the floorboards in the room above are very squeaky. However, Ellie the bar cat was lovely and came and sat by us which made it all worthwhile!

I didn't like the fact that Expedia charge an additional 50% on the price of a night's stay at the Bull. This is highly excessive when the nightly rate when booked directly with the Bull is £40. You charge over £60!!!! Disgraceful.

Its a great pub. Does food in evening but unfortunately no breakfast. Rooms are ok but need a bit of a refurb. Much cheaper than competitors and check in is from 11 am which is an added bonus. Pub is about 20 minutes walk from newstreet station near children's hospitsl.
