Lovely hotel
Beautiful hotel, spacious rooms. Very clean. Good service. All of the staff we spoke to were very friendly and helpful. Lovely food in the restaurant. Nice pool and spa area. Great location minutes from the train station. The only problem was the heat. The central heating was on high throughout the hotel and at times it was uncomfortable as there was no fresh air because the windows don’t open.

The Grand is within walking distance of the train and downtown. It is an historic building with old world charm. The food at The Rise within the hotel was great and the staff were friendly. If we ever make it back to York we will stay there again.

Really lovely big rooms and helpful staff. We stayed Friday to Sunday and were hoping to use the spa but it was fully booked. Booked the hotel so we could have a swim and sauna so this was pretty disappointing. It’s sort of odd to have to book in for a swim.
