We waited at the airport for the free shuttle for about 45 mins in the cold (they need to run it every half hour not every hour). Check-in - when I walked up to the desk, the guy ignored me and didn’t greet us with “Welcome to Great Canadian Casino Hotel” as you’d expect. He looked at me and I said I’m checking in, and he said just give me a minute. Not one smile or gesture to make us feel at all like we were welcome. Then he handed me the card machine and it showed $300+ - when I questioned it he said it was for a security deposit. I’ve never had to pay a deposit before and didn’t like being surprised about this. (It’s probably buried in the fine print somewhere but should be mentioned right up top with the price. Then he gestured off to the left and gave us our cards. I asked what room number and he told us 0217. We wandered in the general direction he had pointed and got on the elevator elevators. We press two to go to the second floor and when we got off, it seemed to be a conference centre floor with no apparent evidence of any rooms. So I had to call the front desk and asked him how to get to our room. He said oh you have to press 2M in the elevator and use your room key to access. He didn’t tell us any of that when he gestured off towards the elevators, so just another annoying aspect of checking into this hotel. The room is nice and the bed is comfortable.The Wi-Fi sucks and the food in the restaurant is very expensive. We would not stay here again.

Rooms were very clean. Everything was extremely tidy, and the staff on checkout were extremely accommodating as I had left my toothbrush at the last hotel I stayed at. The staff at the front desk when I was checking in we’re very disorganized and had people waiting in the lineup while they were attending to other trivial things around the desk, when customers wait in a lineup while staff take on things that can wait until later it becomes aggravating after a long day of travel. Otherwise the location is new/clean/conveniant
