The bathroom was very poor. My bath water was all over the floor—no shower curtains. I had to request lots of towels for the floor. I can't take another bath because of that. While checking in, the receptionist sounded very authoritative. And when I called about the bathroom conditions, she said I booked a room for people with disabilities. That was very rude because the hotel's website did not indicate or specify that the room was for people with disabilities. I do not have any disability, and she did not advise me about the room before checking me in—an inferior first experience.

Important Tweaks

Overall, our stay was great as usual. This is our third or fourth stay at the Canopy and we’ll certainly be back. The staff were mostly very helpful, the breakfast was great, the room was clean and the common areas were kept well. But it’s the small fundamental things that are the big things. This is where good hotels start to show cracks in their track record. Let’s start with the beds… the sheets were clearly showing signs of “dinge” the pillows smelled like other people’s heads and the fitted sheets were replaced with flat sheets that did not stay in place. Waking up in a ball of dingy sheets on top of the mattress cover was a really subpar experience. In addition, the ice and water machine was “out of order” for what seemed like some time. This is an easy enough fix. I hope the Canopy takes note and doesn’t rest on their laurels.
