I’ll start by saying I’m not one to leave negative reviews but I feel inclined to leave this review. I arrived alone with my toddler and waited 15 minutes at the front desk for someone to show up to check me in. Once in the room I was met with a strong smell of cigarettes and fragrance as if they tried to cover the smoke smell. It was intolerable. There were stains on the towels. Unknown reddish brown fluid stains on the door of the bathroom, mildew all over the shower, and a clogged toilet. Thats about as far as I got. I went down stairs to ask for a new room and was told that I would have to bring my bags back down and then they would give me a new room even though the new room they were offering me would be on the same floor I was currently on. The attendant knew I was there alone with a toddler and pregnant so carrying my bags up and down would be a struggle just to go right back up to the same floor. The whole 2nd floor smelled bad. I ended up leaving the hotel and booking a room at the Hyatt down the street. I’ve never left a hotel based off conditions. Just keep this in mind if traveling with children or if cleanliness is a priority to you. I’ve stayed at many Sonesta properties with my family and never experienced anything like this. Who knows maybe I just got unlucky and the rest of the rooms are great. Book at your own risk.
