Overall, my stay was pleasant. The house looks exactly like the photos. It's spacious and has a large backyard, which worked well for our needs.I rented the home for a bday dinner/gathering with about 30 guests, which was disclosed and approved. The host was aware of the guest count, so I expected a reasonable level of noise (no screaming or anything excessive) would be understood w. a group that size. I paid event fees and a refundable deposit.On Fri, 4 of us were decorating when a few balloons popped, which led to a neighbor complaint. The host messaged me the next morning and warned about possible eviction and loss of deposit. The message was professional, but made me anxious going into the event. During the event we were mindful of noise, though a few ppl were outside slightly past quiet hours (11pm) before moving inside. No outdoor music or speakers were playing.On Sunday morning, we cleaned and followed checkout rules and left a day early. About a week later, I was told the deposit would be kept due to noise complaints from both nights. While I understand, it felt difficult to host an approved event of this size without some level of noise.Notes: Garage was inaccessible; master bedroom door doesn't stay shut.Final Takeaway: Great home, but better for daytime events — neighbors are very sensitive to noise regardless of prior approval.I'm still grateful the event was successful and we didn't get evicted.
