You get what you pay for
I have stayed a few times but unfortunately this was not a good trip. New parking garage six blocks away was nothing short of just a pain if you need to get to your car often walking through rain or snow or whatever Quebec will throw at you weatherwise. In addition had a room with constant construction noise and light hammering and when asked to move they said Unfortunately they were booked up for the whole weekend and that was all they had. Rooms are just very dated now with not many updates. The staff is always friendly but I guess as one of the cheaper hotels now in Quebec City this is what is expected you get what you pay for. I've stayed here A bunch of times and always thought it was a good value but with fees going up prices going up and parking going up it is only within $100 or so of the other large chain hotels in town and a large chain hotels for $100 more night are superb value compared to this one now unfortunately. I still love the location by The Plains and if the carnival is in town but unfortunately the value of the hotel just isn't what it used to be after the last 10 years of coming up. I was so disappointed this time unfortunately that I didn't even stay my last two nights I just booked another room at the Hilton and enjoyed the rest of my stay in QC
