Loved the views and how clean everything was. Not impressed with the food and limited dinner options. Sit down breakfast was served cold a couple times when it should have been hot. Buffet breakfast was our option after those experiences.

Everyone, from the time we walked in until we left was friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the place and would stay there again. We liked that it’s not a huge resort, and the views from the room were spectacular. The food wasn’t bad and there were different options to choose from.

This is a small and mighty resort. It was PERFECT for us, quiet at night, no crazy entertainment. Pool area had place for adults only and a kids side. The staff and kids club was super nice and walked the extra mile engaging our son in activities. They all spoke very good English for the kids. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating (within reason). Food was a la carte, so you always have something new to try. We are vegetarian so our options were reduced, nonetheless there was no repeats over the 5 days we stayed (only the ones we really wanted to repeat!) and they were accommodating with adding variety to the children menu upon request. Honestly, 10/10. I've stay at much fancier hotels and I would 100 times rather this small and mighty Hotel.

The staff at this resort are so nice and helpful, they really made all the difference at an otherwise pretty basic resort. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable, and only one of the adult Jacuzzis got warm but the pool was very nice and the service was excellent. Overall a very quiet, easy going place.

Property and room were beautiful! We did not have the best service poolside. One day, not once were we approached by any staff. Food options were limited and a few times waiting for our food was long. Seemed understaffed. The coffee shop/bakery was an hit for our family. Overall, though, a nice property.

Some staff was good and some were bad. Booze selection is pathetic. There was nothing VIP access like. Food choices are terrible... luciano restaurant serves same food under the name of different cuisines menu and food was bad.

We visited this resort 3 times but not for the last 10 years. The first 3 times we found that this was our hidden gem. This past week we still enjoyed ourselves. We love the location and love the service we received. Things have changed in the last 10 years. Some for the better and some for the worse. Sunset is no longer our hidden gem. The beach area is much nicer than it was 10 years ago, however with a nice beach Sunset now has many visitors at their beach that are not staying at their hotel. The food was good but not excellent like it was 10 years ago. Sunset was another great trip. If you have been there in the past, I would lower your expectations just a bit in the future!

The highly dedicated staff makes this hotel! Honorable mention goes to Gabby in the pool area, Jorge with the best smile in Mexico, Daniel the waiter at the Mirrador restaurant, Leonardo at the front desk, and Juana in housekeeping. They are all true examples of excellence in hospitality!!

Best thing is all suites have a large balcony facing the ocean. The hot tubs are in severe need of repair (broken tiles) and water was cold in one and lukewarm in the other. The new tower being built needs to be completed as it is a bit of an eyesore - you can see it is rusting from being unfinished for so long. Pillows weren't good on the beds. Adjacent hotel plays very loud music and was difficult to sleep since the hotel walls are thin. We could hear the people in the next suite talking also, As a whole, we really liked the Sunset Plaza, we thought the food was very good, our child liked the pizza's and burgers, We really liked the coffee shop.

Loved this resort! Every room faces the ocean and every night they do a turn down service where they spray your room with the scent of your choice and leave little chocolates for you. The staff were AMAZING! They made you feel like family!! The pools and seating set up was great. Lots of different places to sunbathe. There were several restaurants to choose from and they changed their menus daily. Except the pizza place- it was always the same and to die for and always open! I felt very safe there too. They always checked you in and out at the gate. Overall great place to stay! Highly recommend.

Very nice smaller all inclusive resort on a beautiful beach. All rooms are ocean view. Friendly staff and very good service. In busy times, it could be difficult to get a lounger at the pool and there are no more than maybe 10 chairs on the beach.
