Excellent trip with my daughter. The resort is smaller and quiet which we really liked. Staff is great. Beach was perfect. Room was large and bright with a great view of the ocean. Cannot wait to head back.

After multiple stays in Puerto Vallarta’s all‑inclusive resorts, this was by far the most disappointing. The food offered at Sunset Plaza Beach Resort & Spa was limited, repetitive, and of such poor quality that I fell ill and my infant got sick. Instead of a gourmet spread we had bland meals that left us dreading mealtime, and on our last day they had the nerve to charge us for that low‑quality food. The “luxury” label is laughable; our junior suite on an upper floor had a lovely view but the room’s amenities were limited to an ancient coffee maker. Half of the property was under construction, adding noise and obstructed access. Worse, the staff showed no empathy when our baby became sick; instead, many seemed more focused on extracting tips or upselling. Only the bellboys, including Mario, were genuinely helpful. Between the poor food, lack of compassion, dreary amenities and ongoing construction, this place feels like a three‑star hotel at best, not the four‑star property they advertise. I urge anyone considering this resort to look elsewhere; there are plenty of real all‑inclusive options in Puerto Vallarta that deliver on quality and service. To the hotel, I don't need your reply and thanking for the feedback. You had the opportunity to provide a decent service and you failed.

Everything and everyone was excellent, rooms spacious and clean , staff all around very polite and helpful, food and drinks and concept of the all Inclusive at this resort are different and amazing its not your typical Buffet style its more like Restaurant style where you have server of course with your choice of food and drinks we really liked it a lot and will be back again , beach is so close to the hotel and pools all and all perfect stay and if I can give 10 stars i would 5 is not enough the deserve better than 5 stars in my opinion

Our second visit to this resort and it didn’t disappoint! The staff are really friendly and had a fantastic time with Raul doing aquarobics and making crafts. The pool waiters go above and beyond! The only downside is the ongoing construction and was pretty intrusive at times with hammer banging and grinding though they take a break at lunchtime !!

The rooms were clean & comfortable. The staff were absolutely incredible! We have travelled to many places over the world and there is not one place that can out do the customer service found at the Sunset. From the butler service, poolside service, dining experiences, it was top notch! Beach views were beautiful. You could see them from the pools and balcony. Our room had a plunge pool on the balcony which was nice. Using the plunge pool at night to watch the city lights was lovely. it just fits two adults cozy. The balcony did not get sun throughout the day at all. That could be the time of year being December. This resort does not have your usual all inclusive buffets but you don’t need it. The food menus have lots to choose from and all very tasty! You can also order more than one thing. The resort also had things to do in the day and evenings. From aqua aerobics, black jack, tequila tastings, Mexican bingo to live music… Our only complaint was the hotel is still under construction so there are a few glitches. The elevators were slow, they stopped randomly but that’s minor. Our room and some others in the newly constructed section did not have hot water, only warm water. Which is normally fine as it’s a hot country but when wanting to relax sore muscles hot is needed. The hotel is aware of this and working on things. It also did not take away from our overall experience. Again, the staff were incredible, the food fantastic!!!

Great staff, nice room in the new building. Original building could use some paint etc. beef and pork was tough in Italian restaurant. They could slow cook meat all day to make it more tender, otherwise a wonderful experience!

Elevators had a mind of their own. Wait staff consistently forgot drinks, food, etc. food at the Italian restaurant wasn’t cooked. Had to send two dishes back. Loud construction during the week. Hot tubs were luke warm.

Employees are the best I have seen in any resort and I have been in many. Customer service desk and bell boys know everyone by name snd are very helpful. Waiters around the pool are outstanding. They were always available to order and were bringing our order very quick. The waitress and bar tenders at the lobby bar are supper attentive. Rooms are nice and clean with great ocean view. Food is very good and changing every day. I can not say enough good things about this hotel. The only reason I give 4 stars is because of security team. During our 6 days there all valuables of the people seatng around the pools closer to the beach were stolen twice (3 days apart). Second time my daughter’s new phone was stolen. I can not say it for sure, but it looks like the robbers work hand in hand with the security team hired by the hotel. There are no cameras to cover the line between the beach and hotel property, no security people watching for strangers and also no interest by the security management to even talk to the people robbed. It is a small area and very easy to secure it. If you go there, keep anything of value with you at all times

The best service, the only thing is I didn’t not like how they are very insistent on sealing time shares . It wasted a lot of time from our getaway to RELAX. Otherwise the place is amazing grate service.
