M I just had what was supposed to be a two night stay at Hotel Rose in Portland, Oregon. I had never been to Portland but was taking my two 12 year old daughters so we could go to Powell Books and have some girls time during Spring Break. I chose this hotel because in the online description, it looked cute, clean had a restaurant and the pineapple touches were so cute! However, our stay was not comfortable at all. One of the other rooms around us had guests using marijuana. It made a heavy odor in our room all evening and all night! I tried calling down to the front desk several times and got no response. In the morning I did speak to the front desk person who assured me they would look into it. But later that day as we returned to our room, the pot odor was there again. We then decided to not stay that night and go back to Seattle a day early. Other disappointing facts of this trip were that there was no reusable water bottles as advertised, no cookies and no open restaurant. And since there were no restaurants around us and we had no car (we took the train) we had to door dash our meals. And there was no maid service to take our trash. And only one small trash can in the entire room. I had fun with my girls, but our trip could have been a lot better. It was very disappointing.

The shower was cold and barely reached a warm temperature. The water pressure was also horrible. When I told the front desk staff they said they would let maintenance know when we leave not sure how that is helpful for our stay?! No microwave was a bummer. The location however was walkable to many places. The staff was generally friendly and the place was clean but had minimal food/drink options.

Great hotel

Overall, great service. I am legally blind and a staff member walked me to my room when I first got there so I knew where to go. I’ve stayed here before. Enjoyed this room better and it was more quiet as I was not on the dog friendly floor this time. My only complaint was the water in the shower didn’t get as hot as I would like. But it was a warm day so I did not complain. Plus, I was leaving the next morning.

We love the Rose Hotel in Portland. It’s our second home and we feel welcome and comfortable here. The staff always go above and beyond for their guests and Kennedy is great at taking care of our every need. You won’t be disappointed with your stay here. Great location for walking around downtown and so many food options and great shopping within blocks of your door.

Nothing Fancy but covered the basics. No microwave but had a so-so working fridge. Room had the vinyl flooring and no real temp control. Windows were meant to open did not really. Our one night was ok, no surprises but no wows either. The re-useable water bottles are cool. The tip card for the room staff tells me how they keep their rates low. The big disappointment was they have no country gravy amoungst the breakfast offerings.
