We have stayed in this hotel, in similar rooms, 4 times over the last 7 years. We love the convenience of the hotel, but we have noticed a decline over time — not as clean, the furniture is very worn, the shower needs new tile, and the carpet is suspect. Unfortunately, we won’t be staying there again until they do some upgrades and remodeling.

It may be because we stayed at a not-so-great motel the 2 nights prior, but this hotel was up there with the best we’ve ever experienced. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful, the beds were *chefs kiss*—SO comfortable, and the robes were to die for. The building is in perfect walking distance to many of the downtown Portland highlights, like Powell’s City of Books, shopping, food, and coffee shops. As a OneKeyCash member, I was also pleasantly surprised to receive an automatic room upgrade to a suite and a free bottle of wine as a gift at check-in. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Portland and sincerely look forward to staying here again in the future!

Our room was very clean and comfortable but definitely had a musty smell, probably because it's an older hotel. The staff was very friendly & helpful and the overall vibe of the property is cool. The area directly around the property felt fairly safe but within a few blocks started to feel unsafe. Unfortunately downtown Portland just isn't what it used to be.

The Mark Spencer is located in the heart of the Pearl District of Portland. It is very walkable with many restaurants, shopping and the riverfront in the area.

Great location and price.

The front desk staff was friendly and inviting. The gentleman outside to get our bags from our car was very courteous. The room was clean and smelled clean, a definite plus! The temperature was perfect, it was very professional and relaxing. The location was great, 5-10 minute walk to restaurants, bars, coffee shops, a few stores. Very little outside traffic and noises at night. The price was amazing for the size of the room and service. Overall just great place! Would definitely go again.
