The staff was great. The facility was beautiful. The room was beautiful with lots of conveniences. The only negatives were 1) the mattress was worn out and left us achy in the mornings; and, 2) the room was too cool and drafty. The heater couldn’t keep up. P.S. I know it’s the PNW.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Mark Spencer Hotel! From the moment I arrived, Manager Alex and team members Anthony and Harrison went above and beyond to make my experience feel special and personal. Their warm hospitality truly set the tone for my trip. The hotel’s location is unbeatable—just steps away from great restaurants, shops, and attractions, which made exploring Portland so easy and enjoyable. While the in-room televisions felt a bit outdated and the lack of a fully functioning café was a minor drawback, these details were far outweighed by the hotel’s charm. In fact, I’d love to see the hotel partner with one of Portland’s many excellent local cafés for a pop-up or permanent offering—it would be such a perfect fit for the community vibe the hotel already has. What really made my stay memorable were the thoughtful touches like daily wine tastings and the Friday night live music, which created such a lively yet relaxed atmosphere. Honestly, my favorite part of the trip was simply being at the hotel itself. Between the welcoming staff, unique amenities, and prime location, The Mark Spencer Hotel made my Portland visit unforgettable. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city!
