The location is amazing really the biggest selling point but the hotel beds are comfortable and bedrooms are clean. I’d stay again definitely.

Loved this vibrant hotel and the meals were great. Some difficulty getting luggage up and down the many stairs and would prefer bathroom door be wooden for more privacy and to stop light spilling into sleeping area during nocturnal toilet trips. Terrific location. Would stay there again

We were due to arrive late. The hotel manager rang to confirm our flight was leaving Melbourne on time. We arrived after Midnight and were welcomed by the manager who checked us in. Great location, clean and exactly what we were after

The room was clean and for an overnight stay it was fine except for the noisy people outside all night but this isn’t the hotels fault, the shower screen was partly broken but my husband fixed it temporarily they were very appreciative of this and are getting it fixed, the only other thing we noticed was the smoke from the smoker coming into the room we had the fan on but the smell of smoke was a bit over powering, again probably not much can be done to change this. Other than a couple of things Rosie and Alex were very helpful and friendly as an overnighter it was fine wouldn’t want to stay too long in the room though a bit small.

I live in South Perth, had a 3 night staycation in Freo. The staff here are the best in Perth. I always take my glass back to the bar, never in my life have I had a waitress take the glass out of my hand before I got there, it happened twice. The manager is doing something right to have put together a team like that. Bravo and thank you

Didn't read the fine print about sharing bathroom (my bad) however bathroom had only one stall and the shower was very small and no where to hang clothes once trying to get dressed, nor was there a screen to stop the water splashing out of the stall and onto the clothes/floor - very soggy experience. However, as I said I should've realised it was a shared bathroom. Room was very nice.

We liked the olde world feel of the hotel. Anthony was very accommodating by letting us drop off our luggage before checking in. The room was small but clean and the coffee machine was a nice touch. The stairs to the rooms could be challenging for some people. We loved the vibe of the bar and enjoyed chatting to the very friendly staff. An enjoyable experience all round.

The chap who signed us in was really helpful and carried one of our suitcases upstairs for us…very much appreciated. Unfortunately, the room we were in was right above the pub and it was very loud until midnight (assume because it was a Friday night). Once the pub noise had finished, we slept well - bed was clean and comfortable. We were woken very early in the morning by outside traffic (we believe our room windows were only single-glazed - historical building protection?) The decor and carpets need updating in the room we were in. The room had hot drinks facilities. Small but functional bathroom. The next morning the lady on reception was friendly and helpful, ordering us a taxi. So, the staff - brilliant, the sleep - great…what really let it down for us was the noise (which we were not expecting from reading Expedia reviews and description) and the dated decor.
