The chalets were very outdated, lounge was uncomfortable fell into it, toilet bowl wasn’t cleaned on the outside, airconditioner only worked when on 22 so it was freezing. Pool was out of commission as a tree had fallen on the fence (quite a while ago) we were only told about it upon arrival, the pool was quite a way from the tree so could of been used if it had been maintained as it’s really warm up there. Could go on but disappointing on the bright side all of the staff were wonderful couldn’t fault them at all. We were offered a free breakfast and a dingy ride to rock hole which was appreciated. First night we couldn’t use any water so we’re given water to drink and we stepped outside in the rain to try and freshen up.

Comment from Hotel Management

Dear CB, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. This is not definitely our regular standard and we do apologise for the inconveniences you have encountered during your stay. In regard to the Cabins being outdated, I am glad to advise that we are in the process of refreshing them. They have been built some time ago and their décor is certainly not in line with the most modern design. We have shared your comment regarding the toilet bowl with our team and put procedures in place to ensure this doesn’t occur in the future. Our maintenance team have now been scheduled to check air conditioners to ensure they are in working order. In regard to the trees, water and inability to use the pool. The week before you stayed, the whole region has experienced an exceptionally strong storm, where a number of trees fell not only at the Gorge, but in the whole region. Our first course of action was to fence the affected perimeter, to ensure no access to the area. As a second step, we advised the tree removal team. This is something that we could not do in house, as specific machinery and skills are required. Given the whole region was affected, we have been experiencing delays and this was out of our control. The storms have affected our water tanks and on the same day, water stopped running… The perfect storm, literally. We are glad to hear that you have appreciated the complementary breakfast and the boat transfer to the Southern Rockhole, which was an alternative to the inability to offer you the use of the swimming pool. I believe our reservations team did attempt to contact you to advise you about the situation at the Gorge, however they were not able to communicate with you, as perhaps you were traveling. All in all, we sincerely apologise for your experience CB, which certainly does not reflect our regular standard. We hope to have the opportunity to share our beautiful Gorge again in the future Thanks again for your review Kind regards

Amazing value in a great location with adequate cooking facilities/utensils to accommodate up to 5 people. It was perfect for our needs (i.e. comfortable accommodation directly next to the Nitmiluk Tour Centre for early activities the next morning). It was a little confusing in regards to the check-in/check-out instructions provided online but the staff were always helpful in person so we had no issues. Would highly recommend (especially during the end of the dry season when the prices are very affordable).
