Would not recommend the Windsor
The lady on the front desk was wonderful. Warm, friendly and helpful. All downhill from there. Key didn’t work in the door properly. The shower did not work properly, with all the water running out the hose instead of the shower head. The vanity basin drained very very slowly so it must be partially blocked. The lights were so dim it was hard to see or read in the room. Some maintenance, and upgrades to fittings is sorely needed. Won’t stay there again.

Basic but good
Super friendly staff, rooms warm, clean and comfortable. Breakfast hot, cooked on request, limited selection if you are fussy but plenty otherwise.only negatives were, general maintenance not kept up to, peeling wallpaper, seals around the bath etc needs renewing and lastly the cigarette ends immediately outside were never swept up in the time we were there, and didn't look as if they had been done for a while, so first impression not good. We would however stay again.

Great for the price so no complaints at all, pleasant staff and will use again when next heading to Newcastle as its only 15mins of great seaside roads away...the fish & chips nearby were bloody fantastic also👍

DO NOT STAY HERE
Worst stay ever... To start, at check in we were told the hotel was fully booked...LIE... Lift broken, so all us disabled individuals had to walk up the stairs with NO help. When we arrived at the rooms, all rooms were booked and co firmed as twin rooms, there were 3 family rooms, 1 tiny double room and 1 twin room. ALL rooms were filthy. One room had ripped curtains big stains on the carpet and to top it off a USED CONDON WAS JUST THROWN ON THE FLOOR outside one of the rooms. 1 room had a broken kettle, called reception to advise, a new on was brought uo. When we questioned the apparent assistant manager about the cleanliness of the room she saod ITS NOT MY HITRL and promptly left. Rrceotion didnt even know what rooms they had given us guests as i was called on my mobile asking ME to give them.room numbers of some guests... Terrible service. During the night, all that could be heard was drunk idiots running up and down the halls, banging on doors shouting and waking people up Next day we complained at reception but was told there was nothing they could do as the manager who was meant to be on duty did not show up!!! Skipped breakfast as if the main hotel was so dirty and disgusting, what would the breakfast be like. Disgusting hotel, disgusting staff behaviour... Refund rquest in on the way for the whole 5 rooms we booked... Personally, i think this is either a bail.hostel or a benefits hostel NOT a hotel.for regular guests...
