It was bleak, absent of life, like a linear space. Even though I booked the last room available I saw only one person on the property, the oddly kind frontdesk attended. Who took 20 min to check in. The room was depressing. Clean, like a freshly done Greyhound bus is clean before it's soiled. The size was made it unlivible. Much smaller than the photos. For a moment I it appeared there wasn't a bathroom, I was wrong. The two small double doors looking like a closet, was the bathroom. Guess take a bathroom over a closet if had to choose. Within mins it was The claustrophobia set in and had a get out. Tried explaining with front desk, but he couldn't be bothered. Wouldn't even refund the 2nd night. But I left anyway. So much for good customer service. They couldnt give a crap since I'd already paid. They got theirs.

Overall had an excellent experience at the Edge Hotel. Staff went above and beyond during my entire stay. Really appreciate their empathy and kindness during such a difficult moment for our family. About a 5 minute walk to CONY.

Amazing stay.

Always a great stay at the edge hotel. Never any issues and this is my 3 time staying here. The room is always clean and ready to go when i check in. Will always stay here if possible.

The staff are so kind and helpful. Clean hotel, nice firm mattresses, and close to Fordham University. Bathrooms were clean and appointed with soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. The original Little Italy (Bronx) was a short drive away. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at this quite modern, no-frills hotel when visiting friends who lived in The Heights (which does not abound with decent lodging). We were surprised by how pleasant and comfortable our stay was, and would certainly stay there again when we return to the area. Like many newer hotels, the rooms were small - but they were very well designed, so that all amenities and conveniences fit together well. The feeling was safe, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet for being in an active Manhattan neighborhood. Most importantly, the staff was friendly, informative, and responsive to any questions or requests. Although we were there for a personal visit, in conversation the staff informed us that many of their guests - including folks with special medical needs and even ancillary equipment - came to town to attend the neighboring Columbia University-affiliated health facilities... and the staff prided themselves on their availability to support and assist those people. Overall, it was a very comfortable and upbeat place to stay in this part of Manhattan.

What a find!

This place exemplifies the fact that if you know NYC and are willing to use the subway you really can save thousands on a visit. It is located up in Washington Heights in far north Manhattan, maybe 10-15min from Penn Station if you catch the A express (2-3x that if local). It's a mainly Dominican neighborhood, you'll see brownish people speaking Spanish and hear loud merengue, but I believe it's about as safe as most neighborhoods... I worked there several years without any problems, even late night, but if you are uncomfortable the block and a half from the train to the hotel has more cops than the local precinct. The hotel itself is great, brand new with rooms that would be spacious anywhere, but cavernous in Manhattan, and the staff may actually be the friendliest i have experienced not just in NYC but anywhere. I am gold so they upgraded me and even gave me a bottle of quite good wine, so take that into consideration, but I will definitely be back!

We were in NYC for medical care at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. The location is the best for that access. The room was comfortable and the staff was kind and very helpful. If one requires access to the Columbia medical center The Edge is the best hotel to meet your needs.
