Room needed dusting, the wall above the bed was covered in dust. The toilet was a literal cupboard, no room to manoeuvre and I'm not big. Very strange lighting, no overhead light, only one long vertical light on one side of the bed and one in the shower (which is in the same room as your bed btw). Batteries in the TV remote were so low you couldn't change the channel easily. I appreciate that it was a budget hotel but it felt very much like a private hostel room but at hotel prices and I got a discount when I booked. When we arrived we were going to be charged a higher price than what I booked at which was definitely not worth what we got. The bed was fairly comfortable however and staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was simple but satisfying but my preference would be to find an alternative hotel for any future stays.

Check in was shocking. The email I received the day before said to check in the day before. Why it took 25 minutes to then have to check in again is beyond me. When I asked about it at reception she said it was so it looked good and still had to queue up. Couldn’t swing a cat in the bathroom and the bed was extremely hard. Staff didn’t really look like they wanted to be there. Overall it was clean and it did serve it’s purpose

Rooms quite plasticy and shame no separate bathroom. Shower power great, tv a bonus - head divider bizarre. Good temperature - all quite basic but served its purpose and v handy to find and on the tramline

No tea / coffee in the room. You had to pay extra for this. £3.50 for 4 tea bags, 2 coffees and 4 sachets milks A kettle and tray was then provided, which you had to take up to your room and return . A bit like Butlins. The remote control for the TV didn't have enough batteries in it so it didn't work. TV had to be used via trying to locate the button at back and side.

The hotel was in a convenient location and check in process was good. Room was basic but was suitable for our needs. Upon departure, I stripped the bedding to aid the housekeepers, this is when I found hygiene issues. The quilt had blood stains and yellow spots on it, lots of female hair and stains in the mattress protector. Really made me feel queasy.

Due to arriving late the rooms lighting wasn’t adequate to check the conditions of the room, the morning after I noticed there was food splatters all over the walls, went to take a shower in the morning and notice that it smelt rotten and that the shower drain was mouldy
