Not just a hotel: transitional housing 4 un-housed
This is a transitional housing facility for the unhoused. We were not aware when we booked it. Everyone was nice. The desk clerks were great. But you get what you pay for. We had a hard time relaxing at first. The facility is older-a but rung down and not the mid century mod bespoke vision of the photos. If you’re not expecting to share a single elevator-just allow extra time. We thought about leaving. But the people were nice and we felt safe enough (we made sure to be back in the room by dark since we were walking). We figured our fees helped support the mission of getting homeless people off the streets.
We try to check in late (around 11 pm), we get to the front desk no one was there, security guard come up to us and he was very/extremely rude, we waited (20-30 mins) for someone to come up to the front desk no one showed up, so we left. My girlfriend and my sister felt very uncomfortable/unsafe, very bad experience,I wouldn’t NEVER book a room here.

Liked: Amenities
I liked the closeness to the expo center and availability.
This place surprised me at how beautiful it is! The classic decor w antique touches plus a baby grand giving mid 20th century opulence.
There is a lunch buffet advertised for 7or8 bucks which also feels like a throwback to the 1900s haha
The room was comfy. The TV is super basic w no major cable channels, but the king bed was a great sleep. In the morning they do a breakfast that I missed but there’s a McDonald’s across the street, and you’re downtown with a short drive to the interstate.
The property was a residential for the homeless and drug addicts in the area. The minute you pulled up to the property you saw how unsafe the area was. The moment you walked into the hotel you got hit with the smell of mold and mildew. They had men walking around on the inside that gave an unwanted appearance to the property. These gentleman say they are security but they were planned cloths and look scetchy at best. The property had vagrants hanging out all around it, all day and night. It was late so I tried to stay the night but I suffer from respiratory issues and could not breathe I stayed most of the night in my car because the due to the smell. It was so bad that I didn’t want to end up in the hospital while on vacation. I barely slept because I felt unsafe in the area as well. They are false advertising on your website and if I were your company I would take it down from your site. I made a new reservation somewhere else and while on one of my tours a local confirmed that the place rents out to the homeless people for cheap rates. I have put in a request for a refund and it is being worked on. This was the worst experience I have ever encountered at a hotel and would never refer anyone to stay at that place.
We arrived at the hotel around 2:30 pm, the building was old and damaged, inside the hotel, the lobby smelled like sewers, cigarettes, and the carpet was dirty and peeling off the floor. There were 3 people smoking in the parking lot not very good looking. It was quite scary. We decided to leave this place and look for another hotel.
I was in the chat for more than 3 hours trying to cancel the reservation using my travel insurance but no one responded to the chat.
Please Expedia do not recommend this hotel to your customers.
It is very bad
This hotel is used more as a residence. When you drive in, windows are open, plants on shelves, pictures are visible, posters, & tapestries. There is a large smoking area in the fron of the building creating pungent odor of smoke. You walk in to see folks who appears to need medical or nursing needs. This facility is home is disabled individuals or possibly short term housing for homeless people.
I walked in & walked right back out. I didn't stay.
Personally I don't feel this should even be a liston your website.
