Waited an hour to check in despite arriving at 3pm. Staff told us they would upgrade us as they didn’t have the room we booked. They tried to put us in an apartment which wasn’t the standard room we booked. When we did get our room it was only ok. Definitely not 5 star. This hotel is over priced. I would not recommend.

Nice clean, large room. Recently modernised although still with the shower in the bath tub. Room was quiet enough during the day and for most of the night. Unfortunately it was located over the delivery entrance for the hotel so was noisy from 6am. Very welcoming and friendly staff.
The historic Down Street underground station is beside the hotel. This station closed shortly after it opened due to lack of demand from residents of Mayfair and the opening of nearby Hyde Park Corner Station. It was used as a bomb shelter in WW2.
