Good option for our family of 4

My 75 year old mom , 17 and 13 year old daughters were in Europe for their first time. This was a great hotel for us. Very spacious for a group of 4. All the modern conveniences. The location was near 2 metro stops. It was an easy walk with luggage to the Elizabeth line stop to get to Heathrow. Also we left an item behind. i was able to contact the hotel and received a quick response to coordinator shipping the item to us in the United States. (Thank you Svetlana).

Check in was simple, left bags and went to explore. Room was nicely appointed, air con however kept tripping out and at one point it was uncomfortably hot. Asked for a fan, duty manager came up and reset aircon - did seem to work but took an age to cool the room.

The location of this hotel is very convenient; easy walk to the British Museum, Covent Market, pubs, resturants and tube station. Unique atiistic motify (modern art) thourhout the property and rooms. Good food in the resturant but their claim of "laid back" means you have to search for a waiter & service. The rooms are not individually air condtioned, you cannot adjust temperature; have to live with hotel's central setting which was not up to the heat wave that hit in early July

Great place to stay

Lovely quirky hotel, very clean, friendly staff. Great ameneties in the rooms. Food in the downstairs bar was really good as was breakfast. Pool was lovely and a real treat in the middle of London! Bathrobes were provided in the rooms and spa however ..... I think a fair few have shrunk, I'm a size 16 and the two that I used barely met in the middle which was a little embarrassing. Only negative (if you can call it that) the pillows were really hard and a bit uncomfortable, in all fairness I didn't speak to anyone to find out if there were any alternatives, but I would if I stayed again. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to stay there again!

The staff is absolutely excellent. There is no problem they did not solve with speed, humor, inventiveness, grace, and patience. They deserve all the stars. The rooms are kind of amusing, in that all the material parts of the experience are very upscale but not necessarily useful. Beautiful arty lamps that only rise to a dim light, placed in the wrong places, no overhead lights, no plugs for the dryer in the bathroom, etc. Everything is done for art rather than for practical usability. Trying to find a place where you can see to read or pluck your eyebrows is a challenge none of us won. But it was lovely, the staff was brilliant, and we had a good time (including making fun of our lack of light). Since it was the most expensive room we had ever rented in our lives, we decided that the "other half" must live in dim but beauteous light, that ornaments rather than elucidates.

The room was nice and very spacious. The bed was huge. However, the room was so hot we were actually sweating. The air con (not good) was ineffective at cooling the room and outside noise was entering through a window that wouldn’t close.
